As it's an international weekend, I think we should pay some more attention to lower league and non league football! That means it's time for an overview again, let's have a look how all teams did start the new season...

First of all I was missing Lemona in the standings. The cementeros suffered financial problems already back in Segunda B last season and were relegated. Because of the players weren't paid lately the club relegated again one more level to the regiona Division Honor. Because of the debts the board then decided to disband the club.
They were one of the most succesfull Basque and Biscayan lower league clubs having played 20 seasons in Segunda B!
Really sad news, I don't know if they made a restart, or if there's intention to make a restart, any more info would be welcome.

As there's no Basque team in Segunda, we'll start with our Segunda B group.

Segunda División B - Grupo II (3rd level)
The winner will enter the champions playoffs. Places 2, 3 and 4 will enter other playoffs to go up. Number 16 will play another number 16 not to go down, the four last ones will go down directly.

1. Deportivo Alavés 7 -15
- - - - - - - - - -
2. Lleida (Catalunya) 7 - 14
3. Eibar 7 -14
4. Tudelano 7 - 14
- - - - - - - - - -
5. Amorebieta 7 - 12
6. Bilbao Athletic 7 - 12
7. Peña Sport 7 - 11
8. Real Sociedad B 7 - 11
9. Teruel (Aragon) 7 - 10
10. UD Logroñés (La Rioja) 7 - 10
11. Barakaldo 7 - 9
12. Noja (Cantabria) 7 - 9
13. Real Union 7 - 9
14. RS Gimnástica (Cantabria) 7 - 8
15. SD Logroñés (La Rioja) 7 - 8
- - - - - - - - - -
16. Racing Santander B (Cantabria) 7 - 7
- - - - - - - - - -
17. Sestao River Club 7 - 6
18. Izarra 7 - 6
19. Real Zaragoza (Aragon) B 7 - 4
20. Osasuna B 7 - 1

I'm really surprised by Tudelano's high position as they were in Tercera last season! Very well done from them so far! Same actually goes for Peña Sport, the Navarrans are doing well, outside Izarra and Osasuna B. As for Izarra it's quite normal seeing them at the bottom, as for Osasuna B it isn't as they're for years in Segunda B, but their first team is suffering too so perhaps in that case...
I'd like to see Sestao somewhat higher in the table as well, probably Alavés and Eibar are going for a spot in Segunda next season just like last season. They just need some luck in the playoff draw, and one of them should win the title.

Next to Tercera...

Tercera División - Grupo IV - Euskadi (4th level)
Promotion structure same as in Segunda B. Last three go down directly.

1. Laudio 8 - 18
- - - - - - - - - -
2. Basconia 7 - 16
3. Leioa 7 - 16
4. Durango 7 - 12
- - - - - - - - - -
5. Bermeo 7 - 11
6. Elgoiba 7 -10
7. Gernika 7 - 10
8. Balmaseda 7 - 10
9. Zalla 7 - 10
10. Arenas 8 - 10
11. Pasaia 7 - 8
12. Santutxu 7 - 8
13. Beasain 7 - 7
14. Lagun Onak 7 - 7
15. Aurrera Vitoria 7 - 7
16. Zamudio 7 - 7
17. Portugalete 7 - 5
- - - - - - - - - -
18. Getxo 7 - 5
19. Deportivo Alavés B 7 - 5
20. Anaitasuna 7 - 2

Last season Getxo (after 6 years) and Anaitasuna (after 10 years) returned to Tercera, so far they're suffering. The other newcomer Pasaia who returned after 8 years are doing somewhat better. As for the rest not so much surprises I think, for us Athletizales it's good to see Baskonia getting good results.

Tercera División - Grupo 15 - Navarra / Nafarroa (4th level)
Promotion structure same as in Segunda B. Last three go down directly. This is the group I know least about...

1. Mutilvera 7 - 17
- - - - - - - - - -
2. Cortes 7 - 17
3. Atlético Cirbonero 7 - 16
4. San Juan 7 - 14
- - - - - - - - - -
5. Huarte 8 - 13
6. Burladés 7 - 12
7. Erriberri 7 - 12
8. Oberena 7 - 12
9. Lagun Artea 7 - 11
10. Iruña 7 - 11
11. Pamplona 7 - 10
12. Subiza 7 - 9
13. Valle de Egüés 8 - 8
14. Txantrea 7 - 7
15. Murchante 7 - 6
16. Atlético Valtierrano 7 - 5
17. Peña Azagresa 7 - 5
- - - - - - - - - -
18. Lagunak 7 - 3
19. Idoya 7 - 3
20. Aoiz 7 - 1

Actually all Navarran sides who sound common to me are playing in Segunda B this season. Just know Txantrea because of their relation with Athletic and Lagunak because of their women's team, that's all. So can't say too much about this league...

One step lower we arrive at the regional divisions, here just the top standings of all leagues, so we can see who might enter Tercera next season.

Division Honor - Bizkaia (5th level)
1. Ugeraga 4 - 10
- - - - - - - - - -
2. Gallarta 4 - 8
- - - - - - - - - -
3. Sodupe 4 - 8
4. Erandio 4 - 7
5. Derio 4 - 6

Santurtzi, who relegated from Tercera last season, are in 10th position.

Regional Preferente - Alava / Araba (5th level)
1. Ariznabarra 3 - 9
- - - - - - - - - -
2. Vitoria 3 - 9
- - - - - - - - - -
3. Amurrio 3 - 9
4. San Ignacio 4 - 9
5. San Martín 3 - 7

Division Honor Regional - Gipuzkoa (5th level)
1. Hernani 4 - 12
- - - - - - - - - -
2. Tolosa 4 - 9
- - - - - - - - - -
3. Oiartzun 4 - 9
4. Hondarribia 4 - 9
5. Aretxabaleta 4 - 8

Familiar names in this group might be Zarautz and Real Union B who're both in mid-table positions.

Finally, something about Iparralde. Last season the best Iparraldan team Aviron Bayonnais relegated from National, the third level. Now they're in CFA, the fourth level, with teams from Pau and Tarbes, but as well Ol. Lyon and St Etienne reserves.

Championnat France Amateur (CFA) - Groupe C (4th level)
For reasons I still don't get, a point is given for every match played.

1. Cannes 8 - 25
2. Hyeres 8 - 23
3. Le Pontet 8 - 23
...
12. AS Monaco 2 8 - 17
13. Tarbes 8 - 17
14. Albi 8 - 16
15. Aviron Bayonnais 8 - 15
- - - - - - - - - -
16. Rodez 8 - 15
17. St Etienne 2 8 - 13
18. Mt De Marsan 8 - 13

So as you can see, Aviron are once again in the relegation zone... :scared:

Championnat France Amateur 2 (CFA 2) - Groupe F (5th level)
1. Villenave J. 5 - 15
2. Narbonne 5 - 14
3. Anglet Genets 5 - 13
4. Balma 5 - 13
5. Lormont 5 - 13

One level below Bayonne, Les Genets Anglet are playing and doing well so far. Either if they go up or Bayonne go down, we might have a derby in Iparralde next season! ;)

That's it for now, hope to do an update again during the next international weekend. Bye.

One point is awarded for a loss. A club gets no points from a game for certain disciplinary reasons or if they forfeit.

That's...odd. I guess the league and teams are so unstable that to go an entire season without going bankrupt is worthy of achievement. It's like the opposite end of the spectrum of handing point deductions for bad management.
