Anyone know what the 0's and 1's of the computer code mean. I'm just curious since my roomate put up a little flyer with some 0's and 1's all over the place.

Its binary code. Its simple data computers understands to represent a wide range of decimal numbers. Difficult to remember & explain how it works from my college years, but here's an example - imagine a table with 8 column headers with 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128. The second row is where binary data is used to represent if each of the values needed (1 = yes, 0 = no). The numbers that are needed are then added up. so a binary code of:

Headers: 1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128
Code:___1 1 0 0_ 0_ 0_ 0__ 0

would represent 3 ,

1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128
1 1 0 0 0_ 0_ 0__1

represents 131

Usually, the code is used in reverse order of what you wrote here. 10000011 in binary is usually considered 131 in decimal numbers.
