Hope you guys can help.

As you may know; when the EPL is being shown on NTV, it stops broadcasting to England. Now Cem mentioned that he'd watch a game on NTV, so I was curious as to how.

Is there a way to overide the blocking? How does it know it's broadcasting to England? and is their a way to change the setting on the box (i.e. the country you're located in)?

Tottenham's on NTV tonight, so I'm trying to avoid the pub (unbelievable hey? :D)

Thanks

Its about the polarization of the satellite. They should be stoping the broadcast to the england with those values. And when cem watched the game maybe they forgat to stop that :D

Wally, if I'm to watch this on Coolstream, I'll have to use my bro's web connection - that may be tricky. Looks like a pint of Guiness and roasted peanuts...

When I briefly had NTV, they wouldn't show German or English football (not sure if NTV was the channel that showed the Bundesliga though)..

Hakan, there are two satelite carraiges for turkish channels. One is Turksat and the other is Eutel. Turksat is the standard one that carries Turkish channels in to Europe and Eutel(W3) is what broadcasts the digiTurk carriage. You need to be a Digiturk member to watch the channels on EutelW3 which is the one that NTV show the matches on... They block the signal from Turksat hence no matches... Therefore, get £200, run down to Tursat in Harringey and get your season ticket to LiG TV, EPL, Bundasliga, Serie A, La Liga etc... Oh and you need the connection costs to (dish, cam/receiver etc) :)

I get FBTV now

It's Digital satellite, but not Digiturk I guess. I get all the channels, but frustratingly NTV decides to shut down on days like this!

I'm not at home on the weekends so it probably wouldn't be worth investing in anything more. Also not worth getting Sky satellite as I get to watch those on the weekend.

There's a pub about 1 minute from my house. Lived here almost 3 years and never been. This should be interesting :D

No probs...

Did you watch it in Nightingales in the end with your fellow Turkish and Greek chav bredrins? :D :D

On your point about the other channels, you receive them because it's likely that you have a static dish facing Turksat. Overall Turksat has more channels then DigiTurk - for example it has Euro D (Kanal D's european channel) and due to legal wranglings Digiturk Euro customers cannot view Kanal D as it can only broadcast in Turkiye. It also has other Star owned channels such as Yesilcam which again cannot be viewed on Digiturk (although they have something similar in CineTurk). The same thing also goes for other quality Digiturk channels such as ComedyMax, MovieMax, etc - the non domestic audience cannot view them. I personally think that Rupert Murdoch is involved in the Digiturk set up somehow and the channels that clash with Sky are not open for viewing outside of Turkiye as it may clash with the local market. As someone with a motorised system, I have the best of both worlds ;) However, should digiturk lower the boundaries for these other channels, I would seriously consider dropping my SKY subscription which at £41.00 per month takes the piss imo.
