I know the official announcement haven't being made yet. But Van Gaal said to Sport that he wants LE to be captain. With the exit of Sergi and Abelardo, I don't see anyone else being Barça captain. Maybe Cocu will be 2nd captain, and Frank de Boer 3rd.

Hello, I´m new to this forum and it´s the first football forum I´ve ever been to.

As for LE, I think there have always been rumors he would leave or retire because of the strong competition and possible new entries... But in the end of a season it was always LE on that one could count! He´s able to play multiple positions and Barca was always looking for that kind of player in the past....

NOOOO!!!! Luis can't leave! He's the heart of Barcelona's XI, and with the loss of Sergi and Abelardo, we'd be left with none of the old guard to marshall the young 'uns. Luis Enriques should be made captain. Who else is a contender? Bonano? De Boer? Rivaldo? None of these really poses any threat to Luis' position as the best captain in the team.
