Check this out . they are planning to buy eight other players.

Berlin, March 4, IRNA -- The tiny Persian Gulf sheikhdom of Qatar is trying to `buy` at least eight more foreign players to play for its national team, in a bid to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the kicker sports magazine said Thursday.

One day after Werder Bremen`s top Brazilian striker Ailton agreed to accept Qatar`s offer to play for its national football team, the paper reported that Qatar`s head coach Philippe Troussier is also pursuing additional foreign players, most of them Brazilians and Africans, to become Qatari citizens to help his embattled team.

Already facing a tough battle to qualify for the second round of
the Asian World Cup qualifier, Qatar has also tried to lure several
Brazilian Bundesliga legionnaires to be more competitive.

Qatar lost its opening match 3-1 to football powerhouse Iran.

Other opponents in Qatar`s group include lightweights Jordan and Laos.
