We so deserve one, lucky I got here!

Current squad list (will be updated by me):
1 Andy Lonergan (GK)
2 Michael Hart
3 Callum Davidson (Captain)
4 Richard Chaplow
5 Youl Mawene
6 Neill Collins (On loan from Wolves)
7 Chris Sedgwick
8 Veliche Shumulikoski
9 Chris Brown
10 Barry Nicholson +
11 Darren Carter
13 Wayne Henderson (GK)
14 Liam Chilvers
17 Paul Parry
19 Billy Jones
20 Stephen Elliott
21 Neal Trotman (On loan to Southampton)
25 Ross Wallace
26 Jon Parkin
27 Eddie Nolan
33 Neil Mellor
40 Adam Barton (On loan to Crawley)
-- Danny Mayor
-- Dominic Collins (On loan to Crawley)

0-0 vs Everton today for Paul McKenna's testamonial. Sean St. Ledger looked very good on his debut, playing most of the match, though Nugent really struggled alone up front.

Aside from Danny Dichio, the only disappointment was the turnout. Attendance was under 10,000 and half of those were travelling Everton fans.

Still, I'm expecting good things for the new season, provided we find Nugent a decent strike partner.

I'm not sure, I don't think you'll do as well as you have the past 2 seasons, but I do hope Simmo does well for you, maybe when he's established himself, in a couple of years we can have him off you as well ;)

Heh, the Pride Park game's going to be alot of fun...

BD's a decent manager, but expect some rather negative football out of him. We had a great defence, but that was helped by the fac that our midfield was at times last season:

Davidson, O'Neil, McKenna, Sedgwick.

McKenna very very occasionally hits a cracker, but overall, that line up has no bite.

Hopefully Simmo will take advantage of the attacking players in our squad like Stock and Nowland when fit again.

We really need a new striker though.

Never saw Preston as negative side myself, seemed to play good stuff when I saw you.

It all depends on who we had on the pitch really. We're a good footballing side when not playing Dichio, but unless we have Nowland, Stock, Whaley or maybe Lewis Neal in the side then we have no attacking outlets in the midfield.

Cheers for the compliments though- I still think we'll finishe ahead of you this year. 1 more quality striker and we'll be gunning for promotion again.

What are your predictions for Derby?

Dichio :howler: Useless c***, one os those shyte forwards we had who always manages to score past us though :(

As for Derby, I don't know, still waiting for the new signings, and there not letting out any leaks on who we are talking too apart from pearson from Celtic which is looking unlikely too happen, we have the basis of a good team, but nothing up front, if we can get in 2 good strikers, we can do well, if not then, just staying away from a relegation battle will be good.

We do tend too do best when it's least expected though, the play off season was the season after relegation which came with least expectation, and the only good season we've had.

Bloody Dichio. He actually managed a header on target last night. I was shocked and confused.

Yeah, BD was after Pearson when he was still here- I dunno about his quality really. You never can trust the scottish league.

Good strikers are bloody hard to find too.

Celtic fans rate him highly, apparently played one of his best games against Barcelona, and you don't get much more quality than that, don't think he will be going anywhere anyway to be honest.

Lynch only played for Celtic 3 times though, and didn't impress against the likes of Barca either...probably had a good game against St Mirren or something :)

Heh.

Pearson IS supposed to be a pretty good player, and isn't just a prospect like Lynch was. I just don't know how well he'll cope in a more physical league like The Championship.

Drew 1-1 with the Kilmarnock side that beat West Brom.

Supposedly dominated most of the play, but their goal came from a great solo run through our defence, which worries me a little.

Ours was an own goal from a Si Whaley cross

PNE have decied against retaining the services of any of our 3 trial players, Sami Mawene (Youl's brother), Polish striker Lukasz Sosin or an un-named Hungarian defender. The three played in a friendly against Bury which we won 5-3 (Nugent (3), Alexander and Whaley with the goals.

Good old trialists, we must have had nearly 100 last season...never signed a single one

We really need a striker. I'd hoped Sosin was good enough, but apparently not.

Latest I've heard is we're in talks with Neil Mellor.

We beat a 2nd string Man United team 2-1 on Saturday.

Goals from Danny Pugh and Simon Whaley secured the PNE win, with a late and very dubious Solskjaer penalty giving Man U a consolation after Fletcher was brought down by McCormack.

The bad news though was an injury to Youl Mawene. It remains to be seen how long he'll be out, but with our 3 remaining centre backs the spritely side of 25, it could be a nervous defence that lines up against Sheffield Wednesday.

I had to laugh at Mawene, it was one of your own players who did it wasn't it.

Yep, he collided with Brian Stock.

I think St. Ledger and Wilson would be able to cope, though I could see Brian O'Neil getting moved back to centre back for his experience.

Glad to hear Dichio is still the top class player he was when we sold him :D
