Well two months for the start of the league.

Here the schedule.......

http://football.sport-express.ru/russia/premier/2009/calendar/

So rfpl decide this year to have a month break in the summer, hmmmm, well i might agree if this is the first signal that they will make the russian season starting in July/August and end in may/june.
If they have now the one month break is the correct and obvious decision to take.

Rahimic rumours is not true, he is still CSKA player. Spahic is leaving Loko (they accused him that he sold the match against Khimki). Unfortunately don't know nothing about other Bosnians... generally we have to wait until the March to know for sure who will stay and who will go, some clubs (Khimki for example) are releasing/selling expensive (abroad) players because they have not such money as last season. Also there will be official teams rosters on rfpl.org site.

Found only about Edin Junuzovic to Amkar, he have both Bosnian and Croatian nationality.

Even if you don't know Russian, go here http://rfpl.org/clubs.shtml and click one club after another, emails you will understand :)
That are top division clubs (Russian Premier League). For second tier (Russian First Division) teams there are not site with emails like this, as far as I know.

PS. If the info will be helpful and you will sell any player to Russia, feel free to contact me to pay me a 1 percent from your agent fee :p

Wooowwww!!! Stephen Appiah is in Rubin's training camp and will play v. Dynamo Kyiv in their upcoming friendly :thumbsup: Appiah was one of my favorite players. This would be a solid pick up for Rubin to defend the title and a positive step for their CL campaign. I hope it works out for him, would be awesome.

Dinamo Moskva take Ropotan to Russia

FC Dinamo Moskva have continued to strengthen for their first bid at UEFA Champions League qualifying this summer with the signing of Romanian midfielder Adrian Ropotan.

Four-year deal
The 22-year-old holding player joins from FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti for €3m and has agreed a contract until the end of 2012. He made his debut for the Liga 1 side in March 2006 and the following season helped them to the league title. Last November he made his senior international debut, playing the second half of a friendly against Georgia. Ropotan's arrival follows that of promising Russian left-back Sergei Terekhov and midfielder Artur Yusupov.

'Step forwards'
"I have taken a step forwards," Ropotan told GSP TV. "I hope to begin the season as a regular starter." Dinamo Moskva, third in 2008, launch their Premier-Liga campaign in mid-March against FC Moskva and will enter the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League third qualifying round on 28/29 July and 4/5 August.

I think Rubin and Dynamo will fall off due to the CL. I would pick CSKA because of the talent, but they have to play in the UEFA Cup and then CL in the fall. Zenit will be somewhere in the top 3. Loko (if they don't sell Bilya), Krylya and Spartak can really benefit.

I know this is kind of out of nowhere, but does anyone know anything about Damani Ralph? He signed for Rubin Kazan in 2005. His Wiki page says he is a free agent http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damani_Ralph. Anyone know anything about him?

Also, anyone hear anything about Rubin Kazan being interested in Oguchi Onyewu? He is an American International defender who plays for Belgium Champions Standard Liege. http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/1614/americans-abroad/2009/01/29/1082927/onyewu-catches-the-eye-of-fc-rubin-kazan

I could be wrong but I don't recall Ralph starting any league or cup games for Rubin. He should definitely move if he wants to restore his career.

Onyewu's a pretty good defender and the RPL isn't above his level imo.

Guch is a monster. He doesn't like the ball but its ok, he brings a lot of good things you look for in a CB. Only probably is that he's too strong, some of these sissies in football will get him in trouble. But that would be cool if he came to Russia.

Still can't believe they called a pk on Guch in U.S. v. Ghana, fukin PingPong

Khagush chases the dream to Kazan

Premier-Liga champions FC Rubin Kazan have signed defender Anri Khagush from Belarussian side FC BATE Borisov, whose president Anatoli Kapski said the 22-year-old has "the makings of a Russian national-team player".

No details
Right-back Khagush played in five of BATE's UEFA Champions League group-stage games in the autumn and won the last three Belarussian titles with the club. FC Zenit St. Petersburg were also interested in signing the player, but Rubin won out, though no details have been released of any transfer fee or of the contract the player has signed.

Kuban next
Kapski had been keen to persuade Khaghush to take Belarussian citizenship, but feels the player is now destined for bigger things. He said: "Anri played well in 2008 and we could have made him a Belarus Under-21 player. However, he now has the makings of a Russian international player." Rubin kick off their title defence against promoted FC Kuban Krasnodar on 14 March and will make their UEFA Champions League debut in the 2009/10 group stage, with the draw on 27 August. BATE will begin in the second qualifying round on 14/15 and 21/22 July.

And Rubin forfeir Appiah purchase.

In a friendly game today they lost 5-2 with lillestrom.:howler:
