Pre-season 2009

Summer 2009: Inter in the USA and China
Wednesday, 03 June 2009 17:13:11

MILAN - The 17th Scudetto victory is still fresh in the memory of the fans, but Inter are already at work ahead of the new season. José Mourinho will fly to China in the coming days to check out the training facilities ahead of the Nerazzurri's first competitive fixture of the 2009/10 season: the Italian Super Cup against Lazio.

The players will return to the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti on Friday 10 July 2009. After the first pre-season session in the afternoon, the squad will be back on the training pitch the following morning. Mourinho will not have a full squad when pre-season training starts, as several players will join their team-mates directly in Los Angeles where Inter will continue their preparations on 13 July.

After three days of double training sessions at UCLA, the Nerazzurri will take on a local team on Thursday 16 July at 16:00 local time. There will be two more days of training on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July before Inter's first match of the World Football Challenge against Club America in Palo Alto (19 July at 16:00). Inter's participation in the six-city round robin tournament continues on Tuesday 21 July with a match against Chelsea in Pasadena (kick-off 20:00) and ends with the first Milan derby of the season in Foxborough on Sunday 26 July (kick-off 17:00) after four more days of training (6 sessions in all) in Boston.

After returning to Italy, the Nerazzurri will train in Appiano Gentile on Wednesday 29 July before leaving for the Principality of Monaco, where Mourinho's players take on Monaco in the Pirelli-Sky Trophy. There will be another training session in Appiano Gentile on 31 July, after which the squad will have two days off before leaving for Beijing in China, where the Nerazzurri will prepare for the Italian Super Cup match against Lazio on Saturday 8 August.

On their return to Italy, Inter will continue pre-season preparations in Appiano Gentile ahead of the first round of the 2009/10 Serie A championship, scheduled for the weekend of 22-23 August.

how about the derby in boston? ;)
Would love that but unfortunately my summer vacation will dry-up any more funding needed to get to Boston.

You're obviously going to Stanford to watch Carson right? Despite living on the wrong side of the Bay Area. :D

LOL! Faxes are old news now. I've moved on.... :howler:

Dude, we killed ManU and Chelsea during the year. Yet we bottled it against the likes of Boro and Hull. Such is our inconsistency label. Definitely, earned.

No, you misunderstood me. I meant that I don't recall you having Liverpool on your teams list before.
