The first half against Sweden was pretty much top class for England. The second half saw everything go out the window, England wilt drastically, and players running around as if they didn't know what to do.

Are we seeing the effect of too many practice matches where the team from the first half was chopped and changed and the same 11 players never took to the field in the second half? It just seemed to me that far too many of our lads when out there, and looked absolutely clueless from almost the very first minute of the restart, as if they weren't used to being focussed for the full 90 minutes.

You might be on to something there. But england weren't the only side to chop and change players at HT of practice matches.

Pretty much top class? England can play far better than that surely? Not only did they not capitalise on the goal, they were playing really deep and playing long balls.
