I don't think that the formation will really change next season. We will still have the same players, only with the inclusion of Brighi and Moretti, thats about it. It seems that Man Utd will sign Ferdinand instead of Thuram and are very close in doing that. Davids will also stay after Roma cooled down their interest because of the high asking price. Nesta is inches away from Inter. If we want to sign Cannavaro then we HAVE to sacrifice Brighi.
NO CHANGES !!
P.S. I hope Moggi proves me wrong and gets in quality players, but I dont think that it will happen
It requires players we don't have, I'm talking about decent players able to take on the wings with success, especially the left one. Pessotto is out and becomes old anyway, Paramatti's case is hopeless and Moretti won't be given the spot just like none youngster was before him, lately, nor is likely to be. Being talented isn't a sufficient warranty nowadays in Italy where coachs fear for their job and therefore go for the secure choice instead of venturing "too far". Just ask Maresca and Brighi. Btw, I'm not sure the latter, despite being the best youngster of Serie A, will be a starter. Well, on the other hand, Tacchinardi was a little bit snubbed by Lippi at the end of last season.
Except what I said, I agree with Anastacia's vision - Davids and Thuram are going nowhere. Few players changes is the likely scenario to me. But hopefully we'll have a tactical change: my beloved 3-5-2.
I'd like someone like Schneider, Kily Gonzalez or Vicente in midfield. But that's just a wishful thinking of course. Till then, I don't know who could fill the spot if no cash is invested: possibly Conte, Davids (Tacchi next to Brighi then), or even Salas.
If Juve wants to play wit ha three man defence, why would you be so interested in Eriberto? He's a friggin right attacker!
I can't see how he would be played without any cover behind him.
And even if Eriberto is only one player who is linked to you and hardly enough to base your tactical scheme for next season I think it's a 4 man defence next season as well.
Players Kily and Vicente are similar to Eriberto. To play them without cover is suicide.
It's possible that Kily could play wing-back because of his fightingspirit but he's really more of an attacker then midfielder. In argentina he played to the left in a threeman attack and if I'm not mistaken he was a pure attacker before transformed into a leftwinger.
Attacking wingers have no place in a 3-5-2.
And three more squad players... Ferrara, Zauri(?)
and Chiesa (?).
About attacking wingers in a 3-5-2... I think as
long as you have two defensive midfielders, and
not just one regista, it can work. The way I see
it, if Serginho was streaking down the left, Davids
could hang back a bit, to be ready for the break.
I hope the Gazzetta is right, and we trade Thuram
to Milan for Serginho + $$, and get Cannavaro with
the cash. I think that lineup is almost perfect -
I'd like to see us trade away Tacchinardi in the deal
for Cannavaro and get Dacourt, but I can't see it
happening. Juve will pay cash for Canna, and so
Tach will be starting next season.
He could do better in the 3-5-2 than in the 4-4-2,
and I hope that he has a great season.
If Zambrotta is still injured at the opening of the
season, Brighi can step in.
