Poborsky heads home for Sparta

PRAGUE (Reuters) - Lazio midfielder Karel Poborsky is set to return home to the Czech Republic to play for first division side Sparta Prague, the club's website reported on Tuesday.
Poborsky, 33, will sign with the club on Wednesday, according to the report which gave no further details.

Born in the southern Bohemian town of Trebon, about 150 kilometres (90 miles) south of Prague, Poborsky started his career at Sparta's city rivals Slavia Prague.

He shot to fame during the Euro 96 tournament where his audacious lob against Portugal in the quarter-finals helped the Czechs to the final where they lost to Germany.

Poborsky joined Manchester United the following season before moving to Portugal's Benfica two years later.

In 2001 Poborsky joined Lazio but has said recently that he wanted to return home to finish his career.

Well the rumours are again that he will stay. It's a quite confusing situation at the moment.
