Venue: Stadium of Light, Sunderland

Sunderland:

16th in the League. 29 games played, 7 wins, 6 draws, 16 defeats. 26 goals scored, 47 conceded. Still, they play pretty well at home: 14 games, 7 wins, 3 draws, 4 defeats, 17 goals scored and 14 conceded.

Chelsea:

3rd in the league. 28 games played, 18 wins, 7 draws, 3 defeats. 48 goals scored, 18 conceded.

Petr Čech will probably miss the game because of ankle injury.

All-time league results:

Sunderland 35 wins, Chelsea 46, draws 20.

Anelka not picked? Rotated or injured?
Rotated I think.
Goal ...

Terry from a Set-piece (corner)

Its been sometime since I remember him doing that.
HT 1 - 0.

Cudicini made a very good save to deny Reid's free-kick. Chelsea made several good moves, but defensively looked shaky at times. O'Donovan could (and probably should) have been sent off.
FT 1 - 0.

Positives: 3 points.

Negatives: everything else.

geez, did we at least have decent chances on goal? Thankfully Terry got his 1st goal in a while. What's it been? 80 plus games? That a boy JT!!!

Sunderland really had better chances. Chelsea... Well, I don't quite remember Gordon making a good save. That doesn't mean we didn't attack at all, but we just couldn't make that last touch and test their goalkeeper.
Arsenal 1 - 1 Boro

That means Chelsea can go level on points with Arsenal before head to head meeting with then next weekend. To do that team needs to win at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.
This place kinda feels different without DA...

What happnened to him.? Visiting Kalou?
DA is banned for 4 months.

3 points are 3 points. What do you expect in March, after a long season and Cl and JM's departure/AG.

at least Arsenal is peeing their pants righ tnow.
What did I say about set pieces as soon as Terry; Alex; Drogba; Ballack are in the team we look alot more dangerous from them. The most important thing we gained from this match was 3 points; the other postitive thing was no one was injured.

Now onto our other matches.
As you said, the most important thing is we got three points and the league is open for us yet. But, frankly, I see United as Champions. Arsenal are struggling now and we are very inconsistent. We have a very difficult match in White Hart Lane. I want revenge!
Any comment on Joe Cole's actions?
It's ok cause he's English.
I saw a picture of him spiting this morning and it took me off guard. Didn't think Joe was really like that. I would like to know the whole story, of what was said between the players. I also heard that Joe told "The Sun" that he didn't spit on anybody.
what's this about Joe Cole? He spit on a Sunderland player or in a direction of their player? Would've expected there to be a tussle if that was the case. Did anyone see it during the game?

He spit right in the face of Whitehead.
