A swap deal involving Chelsea's Manu Petit and Parma midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata has been mooted in the Italian press.
Sources close to Blues boss Claudio Ranieri claim the Italian is keen to sign the Japanese international, despite his poor season with Parma.

Parma are ready to let Nakata go, but want a player in return. Their first option was Sam Dalla Bona, which was rejected by Chelsea.

Parma's technical chief Arrigo Saachi is now asking for Frenchman Petit, although no word has arrived regarding Chelsea's willingness to let the 31 year-old go.

Nakata will be staying at Parma. And I don't see what use would Petit have for Parma since as they claim they make a youth team with low wages.
