Probably the 2 stand out left backs of this past season I think most people would agree but who would you prefer in your team? Who is the better player?

Note, i'm not really interested in the bullshit opta stats about passes completed and the like, stats are deceiving. Give an honest view on the players if you've seen them enough.

Evra once again part of the strongest defence in England and takes part in nearly every attack of the highest scoring team in England. United actually look like a lesser side going forward without him, which is something for a fullback and when you consider the attackers United have.

What stats?

The only directly significant advantage Clichy has over Evra is direct goal assists and he's played a few more games than Evra aswell.

I'd be interested to know how many attacks Evra has participated in and how many of those resulted in goals, for the highest scoring team in England.

And as we all know, Evra's team has the meanest defence in England and nearly half of those conceded have come in this tough month of fixtures for United.

If you want me to change the stats to a "per game" ratio (I see you've already noted that Evra has played 4 games less), I'll do so and Clichy still comes out on top.

Anyway, even though Clichy is clearly better, I wouldn't be surprised if most people on here chose Evra. Why? Because he plays for Man Utd and they probably watch that team more than they watch Arsenal.

How you can base your argument that Clichy is 'CLEARLY' better than Evra is crazy, you're acting as if Evra is just a normal decent player like an Aurelio or something.

Statistics like that mean absolutely nothing, Clichy made thousands of sideways passes, WOW. And the only reason Clichy has made more interceptions are because Arsenal are easier to get through than United. Put Evra in your defence and he'd have similar stats.

Can some of you get your head out of your asses about Clichy. He is a very good attacking fullback but still needs to improve on his defensive awareness and has big errors in him on occasions. He is a young guy learning all the time. To put him up as some kind of superman and deny or overlook errors he makes is just stupid. He hasn't even been the best fullback at the club this season. That falls to Sagna. Been much more consistent. Again I would put that down to Sagna having a few years on him in age. So let's enjoy Clichy but let's also be truthful about certain things. All well and good to back your players but don't let it blind you.

It call comes down to personal preference, which means, I'd say Clichy, that's not to say Evra is crap, by any means.

I'd take Evra, simply because he's devastating in attack. Where as Clichy doesn't add as much going forward. I think the most important attribute for a full-back is the ability to efficiently support his team in attack and therefore occupy the opposition's wide players.

Evra does attack phenomenally well from LB and does most of his good work off the ball, while Clichy is much more ball orientated and does his best work with it, defending Clichy is probably abit better. Personally, i'd take Clichy, still Evra is very close.
