I recall making this point earlier...it was just not Inter's year:

Al Capone said:
Ok I used the following figures:

Code:
AC Milan	6/5	20
Juventus	11/8	19
Inter 10/3	18
Roma	33/1	17
Udinese	50/1	16
Sampd	66/1	15
Fioren	100/1	14
Lazio	100/1	14
Palermo	125/1	12
Parma	150/1	11
Messina	250/1	10
Cagliari	500/1	9
Chievo	500/1	9
Lecce	500/1	9
Empoli	1000/1	6
Livorno	1000/1	6
Reggina	1000/1	6
Siena	1000/1	6
Treviso	2000/1	2
Ascoli	2000/1	2
I then assigned number of difficulty to each team, from Milan 20, to Ascoli, 2. And I charted out Inter's path to glory (I hope) throughout the season. Not perfect, but a good start. Therefore, don't bitch over the odds, b/c it's just an estimate. :) ....I mean :shades:

And so I charted this year and came to the conclusion that Inter has a schedule full of rough patches and easy patches, while Milan has one that is interspersed with rough and easy patches in an even fashion (not a surprise for the club of the man who pressed the button for those fixtures to be made), and Juventus has something in the middle.

Here's my table:

Code:
	Inter	Milan	Juve
28-Aug	2	2	9
11-Sep	12	6	6
18-Sep	9	15	2
21-Sep	9	14	16
25-Sep	14	2	11
2-Oct	19	6	18
16-Oct	6	9	10
23-Oct	16	12	9
26-Oct	17	6	15
30-Oct	15	19	20
6-Nov	14	16	6
20-Nov	11	14	17
27-Nov	10	9	2
4-Dec	2	9	14
11-Dec	20	18	9
18-Dec	6	10	14
21-Dec	6	6	6
8-Jan	6	11	12
15-Jan	9	17	6
18-Jan	2	2	9
22-Jan	12	6	6
29-Jan	9	15	2
5-Feb	9	14	16
8-Feb	14	2	11
12-Feb	19	6	18
19-Feb	6	9	10
26-Feb	16	12	9
5-Mar	17	6	15
12-Mar	15	19	20
19-Mar	14	16	6
26-Mar	11	14	17
2-Apr	10	9	2
9-Apr	2	9	14
15-Apr	20	18	9
23-Apr	6	10	14
30-Apr	6	6	6
7-May	6	11	12
14-May	9	17	6
Here are now the charts with my conclusions following them.

MY Conclusions:

1) There is no doubt in my mind that Inter has the hardest schedule. If you notice, we have more stretches, specifically 2, in the general range of September 25 to December 11, and February 8 to April 15 where we only have 2 "easy" (whatever that means) opponents. This is nuts. A stretch of games against Fiorentina, then Juve, then EASY1 (Livorno), then- listen- Udinese, Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio, Parma....then Messina (mid-range opponent), EASY 2 (Ascoli) and top it all off with the AC Milan. This stretch of bad games falls in bad times too. In the middle of our CL group stage with no home games, and in the middle of CL Round of 16, possibly Quarterfinals.

2) Obviously a range of hard games in a row means easy games in a row as well, and this is signified from December 18th to February 8th.

3) We do end the season on a good note, just as last year. We end off with pretty moderate opponents which might enable us to make a run at the title may it be close (I hope) while Milan end off with Roma and Juve have moderate games to play against good teams.

4) Milan run into rough patches from October 30th and March 12th for 2 weeks each time. 3 weeks in a row against tough opponents. We must capitalize to be successful.

5) After looking at the chart some more, I noticed Inter's chart is very very jumpy, but for the times between those huge jumps up and down, there are a lot of games close together, signifying the season of ours- one where we play a lot of hard games at once, and a lot of easy ones at once.

6) Looking at Milan's, I see huge jumps. They are going to be playing European contenders one week and relegation fighters the next. Hard for a team to get focused, but they will be.

7) Juve also have a very very jumpy schedule. They have to play European contenders many times from a week to week basis.

So make your own conclusions. Hope this helps, but of course it's not perfect.

Now I want to make this clear....look at the Inter graph...b/t 2/12 and 2/26....there is a distinct low point on the graph, apparently an easy game.

Think again.

Donadoni's Livorno.

Between mid-Dec and mid-Feb is when we should have made our move. Sure, we did well...but it was all easy games. Now is when Inter must show they are Inter.

I think we can acheive 2nd, for Milan have a very hard March schedule, in the midst of the CL as well....that is going to be tough on them...concentrate on one or the other...but not both..not possible.

We must get through the next few weeks and then we will be fine. All wins. I hope.

PS: can anyone read what i say? I have the distinct feeling i'm being ghosted.

If nothing else I'll say that your dedication when doing all that charting is pretty impressive :). Although you should have calculated away games are much harder than home ones ;).

Personally - in a league in which you meet the same teams home and away, where injuries and suspensions plus European and cup commitments are hard to 'diagnose' in advance, I must admit I think luck and coincidence play a much bigger part than initial schedule planning. Apart from the few teams that will always be top - it's just hard to predict how the smaller-mid table teams will be like. Their performances are much more a matter of form than for the big teams.

Good work, Pulsar

I don't think this matters anymore though. This season's scudetto is already beyond our reach.

until inter field an line-up of at least 50% italians, then they will be treated like this from the figc, its the same reason why milan and juve get favoured by the refs and inter don't. the figc doesnt want to see an all international lineup win serie a.....really its moratti to blame, hes the worst gm in soccer period. he needs to be fired.

Yes, the FIGC is orchestrating a devilish scheme against us because we don't field enough Italians. ROTFL. :howler:

Cap the congestion of fixtures for any team is absurd these days :frustrat: that's why we'll see how players end up turning out when they reach the World Cup,It's simply a joke! :irritate:
