Our women's gymnastic team won the World Gymanstics Championship in Belgium!!!!!!!!

www.prosport.ro :

Romancele domnesc

Rusia 109,023; 3. SUA 108,514; 4. Spania 106,578; 5. Olanda 106,495; 6. Ucraina 104,316.

What should be underlined in English is that our girls won the 5th consecutive title and with the new points code and the weird competition system this is a great feat indeed! Plus our team had at least one debutante, Sabina Cojocar, a junior champion, but never before in a senior competition.

That is great, but I am kind of disappointed......not because of Romania doing good...but I was hoping this was your national team for women in Football :)

How good are they? Have you won many matches? :)

We don't have much info on the women's Romanian NT but I have seen that they won a game (they are playing for the European Championship qualification) against Bielorusia ( I think, but I am not sure) and tied Israel 1-1 in Israel...So, they are doing all right.

That is fantastic, but expected! :D Probably the most certain title of Romanian sport. We are so good, that nothing stands in our way :proud:

I wish the football NT and clubs would do the same in competitions :sigh:

WE RULE!!

I hope to see in Athens 2004 only Romanian flags on the podium in gymnastics. 5th consecutive title!

I cannot believe it. Probably countries like US, etc. are spending millions of $$$ on training and stuff and we do this with only a poor training center in Deva! We're no doubt talented! ;)

HAI ROMANIA!

Actually, our training facilities in Deva are not at all poor; they are world class. Many teams from western (Britain, France) europe come to train at Deva....

World Class? They hardly have money to pay the electricity and there are moments when they do not have that at all.

Those foreigners are coming there thinking about it as being a miracle place where you learn everything in some weeks. That's totally wrong - Belu said it himself - the key of success of the Romanian NT is hard work. Nothing but hard work.

But the boys weren't bad either :)

David has a very good point, indeed!

On the other side, the boys weren't that bad either. It seems that the 6th place in the teams competition was a mishap... the 4th place for Dan Potra in the all-individuals says more, not to mention the 3 (three):dazed: gold medals from the apparatus competition! Too bad Marius Urzica has these awful injuries (did you see his grimace after today's exercise?), he would have been an overall champion for sure otherwise!
