our strikers

watching recent performances i have been so frustrated at the attitudes of bergkamp and henry.
they are awesome players but seem intent on getting the ball deep and taking it out wide. leaving only freddie as our only player within 30 yards of the opposing goal!

somebody who hadent seen arsenal before would think bergkamp was a midfielder and henry a winger!
ljungberg seems the only gunner willing to take a gamble in the penalty area.
i'm not moaning, infact i'm delighted that the title is almost ours, but the situation really needs to be adressed in the summer, before teams start working out how to play us.

Its all about rotation so they dont get stuck in a spot, West Ham defended their self very good. Bergkamp and Henry opened upped more as they rotated and that leaved an unmarked Freddie run thru the defence line with speed. The teamwork Arsenal have at the offensive side is awesome.
Yeah, Wicked is talking sense - Bergkamp and Henry move the way they do to open up space for others.

The goal we got in the FA Cup Final last year was incredible such that the front two had gone wide, drawing players with them. This left our two wide players (Fred and Rob) actually working the ball in the box for FL8's goal.

Wingers doing the strikers job... they call it Total Football if I'm not mistaken. :D

Actually, if you look it up (Total football) in the dictionary you get a pic of a gunnerlogo :D
yea its true
it all depends on situations
opponents these days mark our henry alot and berggy
leaving other players open
also most of our strikers aint "foxes in the boxes"
thats why AW brought in jeffers...which STILL havent proved if his worth it
Question:
Is Cristopher Wreh still playin for Arsenal?
I think he moved to St.Mirren but dont know if hes still there
Every game I allways think we need a proper CF ala Kuivert but at the same time we usally get a result anyway. AW knows what he's doing, good point about Bergy and TH pilling defeders wide and making space for the likes of Freddie and BoB.
No Wreh is in division 3 now I think. He moved to Saudi arabia or something a couple of years ago but came back and have played for 3 or 4 clubs since he eft us I think.
hahahah what about chris kiwomya?? ;)

there aint nothign wrong witht he way bergkamp and henry play! apart from RvN and solskjaer (no bias here of coure) they are the best pairing in the premier league...

my only problem is the backup strikers. None of them have really proved their worth. Wiltord has been used more as a midfielder i believe, Kanu never gets more than 10 minutes and Jeffers hasnt been given a chance...

Jeffers for 10 million pounds was a weird buy, there are better young strikers than him, who knows! at the start of this season you prolly could of picked up Darius Vassal for bout 2 million pounds and now hes in the england squad!!

but you cant argue with the way arsenal play, they get results an they aint boring like liverpool!!!

Gudjohnsen and Hasselbaink are the best strike partnership in the EPL.
it's all about styles of play.

Our forwards are as likely to make the goals as score, hence Wiltord,Fred and Super Bob all into double figures from midfield :D

Even our full backs are happier going forward ;)

As you said 'Total Football'

can't wait for Tones centre forward burst in the 90th minute at OT to clinch the crown :D

maybe, but im biased and will stick with RvN and Solskjaer ;)

either way it goes to show that perhaps A dutch striker and a scandinavian is the best pairing in the world ;)

that is, if iceland and norway are scandinavian.. geography was never my strong point at school :D

I think Inter fans might disagree with you there ;)
For me, the "best pair" would be Bellamy and Shearer...

hang on im thinking!!!

i just cant think of a scandinavian and dutch striker together there..... kallon, ronaldo, vieri, recoba...

maybe when bergkamp and a scandinavian were there???
