We always seem to have a thread for our b-ball NT heading towards major tournaments and with Duda picking his squad for the qualifiers this summer, I figured it was time for the next one.

Nice schedule, good chance to see some b-ball during the summer for those of us who will be there.

Top 2 qualify as well as the 4 best third placed teams.

Now give us your full analysis DZ and other experts. :D I see a fair number of younger players there like Nedovic, Musli, Andjusic, Jaramaz, Milutinovic, Lucic. Also slightly older newcomers in Dabovic and Jeremic.

Who's missing from the list except for guys like Milicic?

Novica btw very important for Real towards the end of the season. Good news for our NT as last year we missed him a lot.

If police ever raided DZ and took his computer, all they would find were searches for "11 year old sports stars", "Hot young prospects" etc. Be careful dude

Maksi you funny little German :howler: :proud:

What would you guys do without me ;)

Zivanovic is at Real and this is what they have to say about him

http://www.sportsleaderagency.net/#!lazar-zivanovic-news/cg8o

Apparently they think he will be an NBA star if he continues to profess
Dino Radoncic is a unique case. Bosnian name, dad played rukomet I believe for Crna Gora. His parents live in Serbia. He was apparently born in Germany (?). He currently plays in Spain--real madrid. That's 5 national teams he can represent. Montenegro tried calling him up last year but he rejected. We tried calling him up for this summers U16 tournament but he claimed he had club duties with Real which is possible considering he debuted with them a month later for the A-team. Anyhow, I wouldn't get my hopes up. He will more than likely be a SF in the NBA and a sg/SF in Europe.

He's an immense talent in 99 generation. He recently played for Real Madrid A-team which made him 3rd youngest debutant in the history of the team. His game is similar to Toni Kukoc maybe because he's a left hander but his shot is really nice and he plays very smart. He tends to pump fake and put the ball on the floor to get a nice mid range shot or drive to the basket using his above average strength and athleticism. His game is very fluid and looks of someone much older than what he actually is.

Mihailo Jovcic is another Serbian talent that plays for Real. Same 99 generation as Radoncic. He's a pure scoring PG. Knockdown 3 point shooter who has a strong build which is always good for a scoring PG. He has great speed and gets to the basket easily. I think he's one of the better pg's in Europe for his age. Not sure if he's NBA material but could be one of the top pgs in Europe in near future.
The 2000 and 2001 generations are the most talented. Have no doubt next 2 years we will dominate at U16 level if all the players that are called up, show up. Many play in Real and Barca and outside of Serbia unfortunately so it's not always in their hands. Filip Petrusev is one of those kids. Top 5 talent in Europe in his generation, 2000. He plays for Barca youth. He's a monster rebounder but he's very frail and too raw. If he doesn't make it it's because of his physique. He will end up a center but looks like a twig. Poor genetics unfortunately. We will see how he develops currently one of top prospects in Europe in his age group.
Lol I'd go easy on labeling these kids as "future stars" or "NBA lottery picks." These basketball rankings for 13-16 year olds are incredibly premature and outrageous.

I can't stop laughing. Might be "Post of the Year".

DZ  :strong: good kid.

I'm not the one labeling them...
I'm just stating which kids are talented from Serbia and play for teams like Barca and Real Madrid. Basketball players tend to have better paths than football players. If you're smart and talented, barring injury, you have a good chance of making it.

The only ones with NBA star potential like Milicic, Peja and Vlade had are Koprivica and Zivanovic at the moment. Koprivica is ranked by NBA and college scouts as the second best prospect in the US (pretty much world) in his generation. This means he can possibly be a top 5 draft pick if he continues to work hard. Thats pretty damn rare for us or any European nation for that matter.
Then again, you never know. Jokic wasn't an NBA prospect and he's doing damn well in his rookie year.
Bjelica is no star in the NBA but I'm sure nobody believed a few years back he would be this good for an NBA team.
We have a decent future if some of these players pan out. I have no doubt we will be stacked at PF/C positions for the next decade or so. Jokic is someone I really rate at the moment and he has a good coach at Denver who really knows how to develop young players and motivate them.

These kids would dunk all over your precious Mihajlovic right now at ages 14/15 :howler:
Impressive 11 year old Ilija Miljasevic (2004 gen). :D

Interested to see if anything becomes of him. Has a great feel for the game and is athletic.
Obviously from Zvezda we have Boris Simanic. He's a guy that can have a similar path like Jokic did. He definitely has NBA potential. You can tell he has a nice build and is a strong kid. He's also your typical stretch 4 that shoots 40% from 3 in his career. He's a great talent. Like I said, we have talented big men for days in the next few generations. Once we get to 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004 generations we have many talented guards and wing players.

We can add Lazar Vasic to that exceptionally talented Zvezda players.
Borisa :proud:
12 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal in 13 minutes in the first half for Jokic. He is absolutely unbelievable. This kid has star potential if he continues at this rate.

Meanwhile, Bjelica fouled out today in 18 minutes. He's shot really poorly in the last two games. I'm sure he will bounce back.
Finished the game with 23 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals in 31 minutes against the ****in San Antonio Spurs
What a kid. He is a legend in the making
Amazing! :eekani:

Here's one vid with longer highlights and the second is mostly points, but with all the commentary on Jokara. :strong:

Wish Spurs had drafted him. He'd be an NBA legend had they done so. He's just so dsmn skilled for a big guy and extremely intelligent. Probably our smartest basketball players (besides Teo) since Vlade. Let us hope he doesn't get injured. He will be a beast in the NBA
