We always seem to have a thread for our b-ball NT heading towards major tournaments and with Duda picking his squad for the qualifiers this summer, I figured it was time for the next one.

First off the squad..

Nice schedule, good chance to see some b-ball during the summer for those of us who will be there.

Top 2 qualify as well as the 4 best third placed teams.

Now give us your full analysis DZ and other experts. :D I see a fair number of younger players there like Nedovic, Musli, Andjusic, Jaramaz, Milutinovic, Lucic. Also slightly older newcomers in Dabovic and Jeremic.

Who's missing from the list except for guys like Milicic?

Novica btw very important for Real towards the end of the season. Good news for our NT as last year we missed him a lot.

Our best 12-player squad with everyone available:

TEODOSIC - MARKOVIC
TEPIC - TRIPKOVIC - RASIC
KESELJ - BJELICA
VELICKOVIC - SAVANOVIC - MACVAN
KRSTIC - RADULJICA
Aren't we missing Markovic too? He and Novica are the players with most fighting-spirit in this team, but I don't know if their absence is the reason for the embarrassing results during these weeks.

Why isn't Raduljica Krstic's back-up? Or doesn't he want to play for the NT?
Finally some good news for our Basketball NT.

Uros Tripkovic is back after all the injury problems, and is playing surprisingly well. His absence from our NT in the last tournament has been one of our main problems. He is the best distance shooter we have, and we have struggled in this part of the game for a long time now.

It may be worth to mention that Nemanja Aleksandrov has some impressive stats in the Belgian leauge. If he only can stay injury-free he may get his career on the right way again and move to a bigger club and leauge very soon.

I think this is the best team we can have atm (I'm aware of that Milicic and Raduljica probably will not be in our squad):

TEODOSIC – MARKOVIC - NEDOVIC
TRIPKOVIC - TEPIC - RASIC
BJELICA - KESELJ – ALEKSANDROV
VELICKOVIC - MACVAN - SAVANOVIC
KRSTIC – MILICIC - RADULJICA

Yes, it feels like this is his real break-out season.

Milan Macvan was the best player in the Turkish derby between Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray.
Almost all our NT-players are in good or decent form atm.

I'm confident that we will take a medal in this upcoming Eurobasket.

Only one thing worries me - what is happening to Novica Velickovic? He is still a free agent... and this is a key player for our NT, we aren't the same team without him.
Eurobasket 2013:

Grupa B (Jesenice): Makedonija, Litvanija, Crna Gora, Bosna i Hercegovina, Letonija, Srbija
There are rumors about that Markovic, Macvan, Erceg, Perovic and perhaps Savanovic will say no to participate in the upcoming Eurobasket.

Better news are that Velickovic is getting back in form in Mega Vizura, he scored 37 points yesterday for them.
Duda Ivkovic has denied the rumour about players rejecting the NT.

So who are our candidates, if all the best players are availible? Is it something like this or am I forgetting someone?

Teodosic - Markovic - Nedovic - Rasic - Paunic
Rakocevic - Tepic - Tripkovic - Micov - Lucic
Bjelica - Savanovic - Keselj - Dragicevic - Aleksandrov
Macvan - Velickovic - Savovic - Erceg - Radjulica
Krstic - Marjanovic - Perovic - Stimac - Musli

(Milicic is not an option I believe.)

It will be a hard job to pick out 12 of them for the final squad.

This would be my 12-player squad for the upcoming EC:

Teodosic, Markovic
Rakocevic, Tepic
Bjelica, Savanovic
Velickovic, Macvan
Krstic, Marjanovic
Na sirem spisku se nalaze:

Miloš Teodosić, Stefan Marković, Vasilije Micić, Nemanja Nedović, Bogdan Bogdanović, Danilo Anđušić, Nemanja Dangubić, Nemanja Bjelica, Vladimir Lučić, Vladimir Micov, Novica Veličković, Duško Savanović, Milan Mačvan, Zoran Erceg, Stefan Birčević, Nenad Krstić, Raško Katić, Vladimir Štimac, Đorđe Gagić i Dejan Musli.
No Tepić, Kešelj, Paunić, Tripković, Rašić, Marjanović, Rakočević, Savović, Aleksandrov and Perovic.
I think Teodosic, Markovic, Micov, Nedovic, Bjelica, Lucic, Macvan, Savanovic, Velickovic, and Krstic will be 10 of 12 players.

Shame Marjanovic isn't there, he would be perfect as Krstic's back-up.

And I don't know why Rasic, Tepic and Keselj are left out, one of them would as the 12:th player would be a good choice, as they all have been good for our NT imo.
It's not fair to have "The land of Basketball" as your opponent.

SRBIJA!
Do anyone of you guys know where I can buy our official home basketball shirt (without name and number)?

I can not find it online. Maybe somewhere in Serbia?

"This is all Duda's fault - calling up no-name players like Kalinic, Micic, Gagic, and Andjusic when we could have had Radmanovic, Rakocevic, Milicic, and Pavlovic." - Bball Vojo
Are you comparing Ivkovic as a coach with Mihajlovic as a coach, Mare? :howler:
Top 8 at Eurobasket with our C-team is a success.

Hopefully we will have our best players availible at World Cup next year. It should look somthing like this I suppose:

Teodosic/Markovic
Nedovic/?
Bjelica/?
Velickovic/Macvan
Krstic/Marjanovic
This should have been our starting-5 for this year's Eurobasket if Duda actually picked our best players:

C: Milicic
PF: Radmanovic SF: Stojakovic
SG: Pavlovic PG: Rakocevic
Reserves:

C: Divac
PF: Krstic SF: Bjelica
SG: Nedovic PG: Jaric

This team would win the Eurobasket, World Championships, and Olympics all in the same year!

Just imagine if we had all of our players available without injuries:

PG: Teodosic, Rakocevic, Jaric
SG: Pavlovic, Nedovic
SF: Stojakovic, Bjelica
PF: Radmanovic, Velickovic
C: Milicic, Krstic, Divac

We're currently playing with our 'E' team but with all of our players available we'd have quite possibly the best basketball team ever assembled!

Don't you think Teodosic, Macvan, Lucic, Velickovic, Savanovic, Marjanovic, Raduljica and co could have helped this team to achieve something more?

Probably you don't, just like you think it's not a big thing to not have Matic, Ljajic and Tadic replaced by Mijailovic, Stevanovic, and Scepovic.

I don't really know what you are trying to say with bringing up old or retired players?
I don't really understand what Mare is trying to say by comparing our basketball NT with our football NT when they aren't comparable in any way.
Shouldn't Macvan be called up anymore? Was he injured or why did he not participate at this Eurobasket?

What's happening with Tripkovic, Rasic, Tepic, Keselj, Aleksandrov, and Raduljica? All of them were quite talanted I remember?
From Velickovic, Macvan, Savanovic and Erceg we end up with only Bjelica at number 4? :wallbang:

And why not bring Bobi Marjanovic as third center?
