We always seem to have a thread for our b-ball NT heading towards major tournaments and with Duda picking his squad for the qualifiers this summer, I figured it was time for the next one.

First off the squad..

Nice schedule, good chance to see some b-ball during the summer for those of us who will be there. :thumbsup:

Top 2 qualify as well as the 4 best third placed teams.

Now give us your full analysis DZ and other experts.

I see a fair number of younger players there like Nedovic, Musli, Andjusic, Jaramaz, Milutinovic, Lucic. Also slightly older newcomers in Dabovic and Jeremic.

Who's missing from the list except for guys like Milicic?

Novica btw very important for Real towards the end of the season. Good news for our NT as last year we missed him a lot.

FIBA is the most retarded place on earth.

Not that i'm complaining cause it will guarantee our place when we win Slovakia today (up by 38 right now) - but what they did is, they gave the groups with the 6 teams in them an unfair advantage.

Cause as far as the best 3rd place finishers from all houses - what counts is the wins record - and we play 2 more games then groups with 5 teams in them, so naturally the common decision should be not to count the 2 games against the last place finishers, right?

But not in FIBA apparently :howler: So it ends up that the wins against Slovakia does count both of us

It's been all over the news here the last few days.

Everyone thought that the 2 games against the worst teams will not count, but apparently after talks initiated by the Bulgarians, and eventually reach to FIBA - the word is they confirmed that the they will count and that the wins record will be the one deciding between the best 3rd place finishers.

Amateur hour at FIBA isn't anything new though - I mean just 2 years ago they decided AFTER the European qualification ended that they're increasing the number of teams participating to 24 :howler:

After that move, we should expect and understand any moronic thing coming out of that clown house.

What's the difference between 2nd and 3rd anyways - iirc the FIBA ranking is what matters anyways in the Euro draw, no?

Great game.

Croatia smart to switch to zone in an attempt to cool down Micic, and it's working - his impact on the game is grealy reduced since they're in the zone - although you guys are also just not hitting shots.

If Saric works on his shooting he can be such a beast.

Really liking Micic tho. Pure PG. His passing and playmaking instincts are superb - and atleast in those levels he seem a very good defender.

European Jason Kidd is really a fine comparison. Think he can have a future in the NBA if he really wants it.

There's that athleticism

- He has Russel Westbrook quickness when he comes off picks or after crossovers. You blink and he's already at the rim - gonna be a test for your perimeter defenders.

You're doing a much better job closing the lane for Exum - Australia has no answer if that's gonna continue the rest of the night.

Micic has so much basketball IQ for a 19 year old.

Exum is trying too hard. Although I guess he can't be blamed that much cause his team goes as he goes.

But you can see it's affecting him in terms or trying to do too much.

Micic is a PNR master. If he can improve his pull up shot off the dribble, he'll be brilliant.

USA are a beautiful matchup for you guys, cause their 'honor' won't let them guard zone.

And if you don't guard zone - Micic will dismember your defense like a brain surgeon with Pick and roll after Pick and roll.
