WHY CANT THE CFL TEAMS SHAIR THEIR STADIUMS WITH A PROFECIONAL SOCCER TEAM?

It doenºt take much to convert a Football stadium to a soccer stadium?

There may be many reasons why this is not done more often, but I can think of two right off the top.

First, the playing surfaces may be unsuitable for soccer (e.g. Skydome).

Second, soccer teams may not be able to afford to rent large stadiums when they only need to accommodate 5,000 fans at a time.

No one can use it cause owners and investers want every thing now and dont realize it has to be a gradual thing.

First off the CFL teams don't own the stadiums, any soccer team could pay in these stadiums if they so wish. However how many professional soccer teams want to play on astroturf? How many also wan't to play on astroturf with CFL football lines painted over them? Only one CFL team (Edmonton) plays on grass.

Finally as Jeff says, why would any Canadian pro team need to play in a CFL stadium? The largest drawing pro soccer team in Canada (Vancouver) only draws 5000-7000 a game, why would they want to play on astroturf in a 60000 seat stadium?

Just have to add, since you are a Hamilton Thunder fan, you wouldn't want your team to play in Ivor Wynn would you? Hard astroturf on concrete, CFL lines on the field (tigercat colours to boot), narrow pitch with dangerous concrete walls near the sidelines.

If I were an owner of a team I wouldn't want them to play there.

I've played there a number of times and I'm telling you it's a hazard and nothing more.

Shame the CFL stadiums can't go through a rebirth like so many of the leagues around the world.
