Javier Mascherano has shrugged off a groin injury and has been named in Liverpool's squad for the Champions League second-leg tie with Inter Milan.

Fellow midfielder Xabi Alonso will miss the last-16 match in the San Siro as his girlfriend is having a baby.

Steve Finnan is also ruled out of the game because of a hamstring problem.

Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is fit after a knee injury, but Marco Materazzi is suspended and Christian Chivu (shoulder) is a minor doubt.

Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher will play his 100th European game - as the Reds seek to join Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in the quarter-finals.

so that's what it is. ok now it makes sense. i thought it was cause one of them had to make up games domestically but I found it hard to believe a CL match would be moved back this late into the competition.

why are you 2 playing each other March 11
Because both teams play at San Siro and BBilan has the higher uefa coefficient hence they get first choice. And they refused Inter's request for Inter to get the game on the 4 so it doesn't clash with Inter's 100 year celebrations.

Because they refused we won't be able to celebrate our 100 birthday on the exact day since we had to bring the reggina game forward a day to Saturday instead of the Sunday.

Great attitude, lets humiliate the Italian leaders and current champs in there own backyard.Liverpool fans most of all should know not to write off the opposition.

Increasingly depressed at our ownership, direction and support.

I go with this form :

Reina
Arbeloa Carragher Hyypia Riise
Alonso Mascherano
Kuyt Gerrard Babel
Torres

* I can go even with Pennant ahead of Kuyt or Skrtel a head of Hyypia .
hopefully we can get a goal early in this game .

c`mon reds . :strong::strong:

i predict this

Pepe

Arbeloa - - - Carra - - Skrtle - - - Aurelio

Mascha - - Lucas

Kuyt - - Gerrard - - Babel

Torres
maybe Carra at RB with hyppia coming in

But being 2-0 and needing to defend, i can see the team being totaly diffrent and not being in our 4-2-3-1

thats to much of an attacking team, we're winning 2-0 so we dont need to go all out.

Very dangerous match for you, I'm quite sure Inter will win, the main question being the score-line. It's very easy to imagine the Italians taking a more positive approach, psychologically it's easier to approach for them: attack, they need goals, they need to win. But you? What will you do, how will you try and finish the job? A containment job or on the score-line? They have it all to gain, you have it all to lose.

We will let them come to us, and hit them hard in the process, simple as that. One goal for us and they're 99% out.
