Portsmouth v Liverpool

The two sides might have played out a 0-0 draw in this fixture last season, but with Liverpool looking to keep up the pressure at the top and Portsmouth fighting for survival at the other end of the Premier League, expect there to be a lot more to shout about in this evening encounter.

Match pointers:

Liverpool's next goal will be their 100th in league games against Portsmouth.

Our biggest victories at Fratton Park came in 1950/51, 1951/52 and 2005/06 seasons. The Reds won 3-1 on each occasion.

There have been four hat-tricks scored by Liverpool against Pompey in league games. The last was by Jack Balmer way back in 1946 when we ran home 3-0 winners.

But no Liverpool player has ever scored a hat-trick at Fratton Park.

The Reds heaviest defeat at Fratton Park came in September 1936 when they lost 6-2.

Pepe Reina's first penalty save for the Reds in normal play came at Fratton Park last season when he prevented Kanu from scoring in a goalless draw.

Pompey have won only one of their last seven home games in the Barclays Premier League and have conceded 15 goals in that time. Their last victory came in a 3-2 win over Blackburn on the last day of November.

Peter Crouch scored 42 goals in 134 games during his three-year stay at Liverpool. One of those goals came against Portsmouth at Fratton Park two years ago.

0-1. N'Gog to get the winner.

Or it could be one of those weekends, where ex Liverpool strikers like Bellamy, Voronin (possibly Keane and Heskey aswell) score goals while we can't score with our limited options and Crouch punishes us with a cross from Pennant.

your 2 predictions (0-1) mean that we have a real tough game away of anfield, but of course for me to win the 3 pts is the most important thing from this game.

What a crazy line up, lets hope it works. Babel is playing more often lately, time to take your chance Ryan!

C'MON YOU REDS! Can't drop points tonight.
