A.C. Milan communicate they have extended Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite Kakà's contract with the club until 30 June 2013.

MILAN - Here are Adriano Galliani's comments after Kaká's signature: 'Ricky has repeatedly stated that he wants to become a symbol of this team: he is, he's the best footballer in the world, and he's decided to tie himself definitively with Milan's colors. Good news. The "for life" stuff is crap though. I would love to see it and Kaká definitely seems like an exceptional character and all... but after Shevchenko fiasco, we sould never be told that. Its not about extending every few months, but if you want to be cynical, Kaka isnt signing on long term contracts so he can renew his contract after a while and get a raise (and keep his options open too). He was on a 3 year contract it seems, now got 2 years extension.

Under the FIFA (or FIGC!) rules players can sign only 5y contracts. Kaka's contract was till 2011 - 5 years = 2006 ... I don't know the month

Cant be FIFA rules, there are players who have 8 year long contracts I believe.
