I am sincerely pleased for Baka. He deserves this on his CV. LOL @ best and oldest. To be the best you got to fight for both trophies every year like Željo. Banned for 47 years. No games in former Yugo. Zrinjski are the oldest with nothing to show for it. Statistic to be proud of.

lol bullshit

Since 1992 football in our country has changed massively. Yes the Yugoslav league was much more professional and had much better football but how many times did Zeljo win that league?

I could understand Dinamo, Hajduk, Partizan and Red Star fans calling out Zrinjski because their teams were GIANTS in Yugoslavia. Something that Zeljeznicar was not.

Also I find it Ironic that you say that Zrinjski has nothing to show for it yet you Zeljeznicar fans are the first to bring up your 5 post-war title victories many of which have been called into disrepute due to a history of shady referring and bribery and is made even more suspicious by your club being backed by criminals from both SDA & SDP

Anyway as years go past more and more people are forgetting about Yugoslavian football and all present generations will remember in our piss poor league is Zrinjski's recent dominance.

Zrinjski is a giant of BiH Football whether you like it or not.

Deserved congratulations to Zrinjski, but this is where the hard work starts: unlike the two major Sarajevo teams, Mostar clubs have rarely come close to making any kind of meaningful impression in Europe.

As ever, keeping their best players will likely prove beyond them - Cavar is Exhibit A here - and there will probably be plenty of churn even in the coming weeks.

Let's hope for a favourable UEFA CL draw and a dose of stability.

These clubs had serious state and financial backing, especially compared to Zeljo, who as Sarajevo's second team probably punched above their weight, particularly in Europe.

The Belgrade clubs yes but not Dinamo and Hajduk who especially since the 70s were symbols of Croat seperatism from Yugoslavia.

Anyway speaking of financial and state backing. Its embarrasing that neither Zeljo or Capajebo won the league in last 3 seasons despite backing from Tan, Bosnian government criminals, Turkish airlines, Al shiddi, network of clubs that willingly give up points to them like Travnik, vitez, olimpik etc..

Zeljo and Capajebo fans claim to defend tradition but when Sloboda got relagated in favor of Gosk back in 2012 they were all laughing at Sloboda fans insulting City of Tuzla. Velez fans did so too but in their case Karma is a real biatch

Quiet shamefull really.

Maybe in the 1980s, but even then that didn't stop them from getting first dibs on great players, stadium upgrades (think Maksimir 1987), commercial backing from state-owned companies...it's easy to look back and look at events through the lenses of nationalism, but in some ways it explains surprisingly little.

It is crazy that FK Sarajevo haven't established full-spectrum dominance since 2015, but to be honest I prefer it this way. It is better to have a competitive league where you don't always know the winner in advance.

Congrats to Zrinjski, but there are probably half a dozen BiH PL teams which would have eliminated Valletta, and possibly more impressively. Although by the same token, Zrinjski probably wouldn't have lost 0-8 to Atalanta...

Nevertheless, very best of luck in the next round. Zrinjski is Bosnia's last remaining hope in Europe this season, and the date is 2nd August :wallbang:

Teams from Malta have improved in recent years and they are not as bad as they used to be. To win against Valleta whilst a man down for a good 45 minutes is a good result.

Still I think Zrinjski only have a 20% at best chance to beat Ludogorets in the next round

Zrinjski just signed Damir Sovsic, a good offensive midfielder who is very creative and former Hajduk Striker and Croatian International Ante Vukusic.

Some pretty good signings there. If they can be registered before the game against Ludogorets their chances against the Bulgarians will double on getting these two in the team alone.

Also looks like Zrinjski are favorites to win the league a 4th time around as well

Some of the goals were brilliant to boot. Whoever is in charge of their scouting is doing an excellent job.
