Carl Cort signs Brentford contract extension

Cort has made 16 appearances for Brentford this season
Brentford striker Carl Cort has signed a four-month contract extension to keep him at Griffin Park until the end of the season.

Cort, 32, has scored four times since signing a five-month deal in August.

Brentford boss Andy Scott told the club website: "I'm very keen to try to keep the squad together as a unit for the remainder of the campaign.

"I'm delighted Carl's agreed to stay as he continues to have a significant part to play for the rest of the season."

The former Wimbledon player, who subsequently signed for Newcastle for £7m in 2000, spent time on loan at Wycombe and Norwich in 2009.

A good deal for the Bees in my opinion, hopefully this can give extra motivation for the team to stay up this year.

1 Leeds United 24 32 57
2 Norwich 25 26 51
----------------------------
3 Charlton 24 19 48
4 Colchester 23 18 45
5 Huddersfield 23 18 38
-----------------------------
6 Swindon 22 2 38
7 Millwall 24 7 36
8 MK Dons 24 0 36
9 Bristol Rovers 23 -4 34
10 Walsall 22 3 31
11 Hartlepool 24 -1 30
12 Brentford 24 -4 30
13 Southend 24 -4 29
14 Southampton 24 13 28
15 Yeovil 24 -2 28
16 Carlisle 22 -2 28
17 Gillingham 24 -5 26
18 Exeter 25 -11 26
19 Oldham 23 -9 25
20 Brighton 24 -13 24
-------------------------------
21 Leyton Orient 24 -13 24
22 Tranmere 23 -22 21
23 Wycombe 26 -22 19
24 Stockport 23

Brentford are dead in the middle. This season reminds of the 00/01 season when Brentford were lurking around, and not doing enough to get into a play-off spot.

Brentford going well this season, I can see them getting a promotion.
Uwe Rosler was an interesting choice as new manager, and seemingly doing a good job.
