With Montolivo now the one excluded from the squad, it is good luck to all the Roma players that are there, including Mexes too.

Meanwhile, Mexes was excluded from the France squad but the likes of Boumsong, Clerc and Squillaci remain.

Domenech is a clown. I hope we belt them.

I'm sorry for Mexes, but I'm glad. It weakens the French and now Mexes can have a relaxing summer and rest for the upcoming Roma season.

I've heard the Italian National Team numbers have been issued: Panucci #2, De Rossi #10, Aquilani #15, and Perrotta #20.

Nevermind Boum, a 36 year old, benchwarming Thuram is in the squad.

Flamini also didn't make the cut, it's clear Domenech has something against Serie A-based players.

Interestingly, Donadoni left the #10 up to the squad, who voted for DDR . Cassano would have taken 18 as from memory he wore that with us (1+8 = 9?) and Del Piero has worn #7 for Italy quite often (though I think at France '98 he had #10.)

Yeah, Del Piero had in 2000, but then gave it to Totti after that, and prefers Nr 7 since.

De Rossi better score a solo goal or two with that number :D

It was Baggio who had number 10 in France '98 world cup.
Incorrect. Baggio wore #10 in WC1994 and then #18 in WC1998. Del Piero wore the #10 in France.

De Rossi probably has it also because the last man to wear it was his team-mate Totti  However all things considered, this will be the first time for a good while that the no.10 for Italy is a box to box midfielder.

Only a idiot like Donadoni can let De Rossi out of the first team...
I loved the way he got that free kick on the edge of the box, when he went past 3 french players...Sometimes i wish he had more freedom to go upfront:groan:

Forza De Rossi!
