I just want to state that I am very proud that the RTP "Player of the Year" award, was given to Nuno Gomes.

That shows that not only the ones who score the goals get recognized. The ones that actually know how to play soccer (Nuno Gomes) also get recognized.
I hope that he keeps up his good job, and that Benfica gets someone to help him up front, so he can shine even more.

I just hope that he doesn't leave Benfica...

I think Nuno could be the answer to Portugal's striking problems. His goal scoring record could be better, but I would like to see him do well at Benfica next season.

I would like to see him in the forefront of Portugal's World Cup 2002 qualifying campaign. I think Benfica must do all they can to keep him, as he might do a Domingos and fluff up his career.

Nnuno Gomes is good and is probably one of the most improved players but player of the year is a bit much.
