Forest have not only started early by being the first Midlands side to begin training, but have also made their first signing.
The name Gary Jones may not ring any bells but the guy himself seems alright, quotes like: "It's a fresh start for me and I can't think of a better place to do that than Nottingham Forest." and "I regard it as a great honour to have been wanted by a guy like David Platt," won't do any harm for his relationship with the fans.
Jones started training with the side straight afterwards and also added "He's [Platt] still relatively new to management but I'm sure he will take Forest into the Premier League."
He can play at the centre of defence, midfield or up front and cost nothing - he was out of contract. I think I like the guy already...
