Comments From Norway's Coach & More

Following yesterday's match Norway's National Team coach Åge Steen said that he was satisfied with his offense, but not with the play of his defenders against Denmark. Here's some quotes from Steen followed by my rough translation.
Det blir for mye rot i forsvaret. Danskene scorer tre ganske like mål der Lene Jensen altfor enkelt løper gjennom forsvaret vårt. Det skorter litt på kommunikasjonen mellom midtstopperne. Det må vi jobbe videre med," sier Åge Steen til toppserien.com.
"There is too much confusion in the defense. The Danish scored three similar goals with Lene Jensen running alone through our defense. There is some lack of communication between our central defenders. This is something that we must continue to work on," said Åge Steen to toppserien.com.

Norway has also been experimenting during their first four matches of the year using several defenders who had little or no national team experience. Regular national team starter Anne Tønnessen, Norway's best central defender, has been recovering from a broken bone in her foot. Tønnessen made the trip to Spain, but did not play yesterday. Unni Lehn injured her knee last week training with her former club Trondheims-Ørn and did not make the trip. Lehn will be out of action for approximately 2-4 weeks.

Ragnhild Gulbrandsen saw her first action playing for Norway in over a year when she came off the bench to play the final 15 minutes. The Norwegian website "toppserien.com" also reported that goalscorers Hege Riise and Anita Rapp arrived in La Manga, Spain one week earlier than their teammates, so it looks like the extra training paid off. :)

Privatlandskamp: Norge - Danmark 3-3 (2-2)

Norge (4-5-1): Astrid Johannessen - Marianne Paulsen, Monica Knudsen, Ane Stangeland, Brit Sandaune - Leni Larsen Kaurin (Ragnhild Gulbrandsen, 75), Solveig Gulbrandsen (Ingvild Stensland, 68), Lise Klaveness (Trine Rønning, 68), Hege Riise (Kristine Edner, 68), Anita Rapp (Cecilie Berg-Hansen, 68) - Dagny Mellgren.

Thanks for the translations, S!

As usual the Norwegians don't list the opposing team's roster, but the pre-match selections for Denmark can be seen here.
