Does anybody know the lineup for the friendly v. the USA on 29th? I will be at this game, and I think it should be fun. I know USA is fielding an all MLS team, so it should be interesting to see how they do vs. Norway.

Its a long time to the game..and the coach is playing with players from the norwegian league only so it will be a second-string team...I will try to post it here closer to the match...:)

It's not that long to the match, it's this Sunday...I guess it will be a good game, since it will be a 2nd string US team as well.

The Norwegian squad:

Espen Johnsen, Rosenborg

Jan Kjell Larsen, Haugesund

Trond Erik Bertelsen, Fredrikstad

Bård Borgersen, Start

Henning Hauger, Stabæk

Brede Hangeland, FC København

Erlend Hanstveit, Brann

Daniel Fredheim Holm, Vålerenga

Magne Hoset, Vålerenga

Petter Rudi, Molde

Frode Kippe, Lillestrøm

Petter Vaagan Moen, Brann

Stian Ohr, Molde

Espen Olsen, Ham-Kam

Steinar Pedersen, Start

Bjørn Helge Riise, Lillestrøm

Tomasz Sokolowski, FC Lyn Oslo

Jarl André Storbæk, Vålerenga

Alex Valencia, Start

Ole Martin Årst, Tromsø

Sigurd Rushfeldt (Austria Wien), Jon Inge Høiland (Malmö FF), Tommy Svindal Larsen (Odd Grenland), Andre Muri (Vålerenga), Christian Grindheim (Vålerenga) and Kristofer Hæstad (Start) were all part of the original squad, but have had to pull out for various reasons. Daniel Fredheim Holm is struggling with a minor injury, and can't play against Mexico, while Bjørn Helge Riise is ill, and won't play in either of the matches.

Wednesday 25. January, 20.00 (26. Jan. 05.00 CET): Mexico – Norway, Monster Park, San Francisco

Sunday 29. January, 14.00 (29. Jan. 23.00 CET): USA – Norway, Home Depot Center, Carson (Los Angeles)

I think Hangeland has joined FCK as well.

I doubt PVM will be as successful in Brann as in HamKam.. He was their star player, at Brann he'll be fighting for a spot in the first team. He's undoubtedly got a big talent, but I can't see him being a major influence in the team that warrants the amount of money spent on him. Hopefully he proves me wrong, but I don't have big expectations. We probably shouldn't talk too much about Brann in this thread though :p

I got the squad list from fotball.no, didn't really check the clubs, I would assume that it would be correct. Seems like they did a sloppy job.

It will be very disappointing if PVM won't be a first team regular in Brann. Personally I think he'll have a great year, but some great players have struggled in Bergen before.

Either way, I'm looking forward to the new season, and hopefully it will be a great year for both Aalesund and Brann.

Thanks for posting this information Orange. :) If you have any other updates before tonight's kickoff, please post them here.

I will actually have a rare opportunity to watch the Norwegian men play "live" at home for free!! Two of the only other matches I have seen "live" at home were Norway's VM '94 victory over Mexico along with what was perhaps their best victory ever over Brazil in VM '98 (23.06.98 - I didn't even have to look the date up. :) ) :strong:

In case anyone else in North America is interested in the television schedule, here is what I found at the soccertv.com site:

Wed Jan 25 07:45PM Pacific
Wed Jan 25 08:45PM Mountain
Wed Jan 25 09:45PM Central
Wed Jan 25 10:45PM Eastern
Length: 2 hr 15 min LIVE
Telemundo
International Friendly/Partido Amistoso - CONCACAF/UEFA
Mexico vs Norway/Noruega
Monster Park, San Francisco.

Well, with Miller, Andresen, Ludvigsen, Monkam, Huseklepp, Haugen and PVM fighting for four spots in our midfield, it wouldn't be shocked if he didn't get to be a regular starter, but I hope he will get to play. Huseklepp did great on the wing last fall, and he's appearantly been improving a lot throughout the winter. I've heard rumours of PVM playing in the central position for the NT today, would be interesting if he does well there, cause we could use Miller as backup striker instead of attacking midfielder then.

Why would it?

The Mexicans played with their WC squad. You didn't.

If Mexico's World Cup squad could only beat Norway's "B" team 2-1, in front of a home crowd of sorts, with the Mexican League still in-season, but with the Tippaligaen in their pre-season... that's pretty embarassing for Mexico.

That is how Mexico usually plays! They are the most overrated nation in the world! Top 10 in the world ranking? ****, they ain't even be in the top 20!

Actaually they played with many of their players that are not going to he World Cup. Players like Borgetti, Marquez, Lozano, Osario, Torrado, Sanchez (the goalkeeper) were all missing, while Luis Perez only played 30 minuttes. And players from the team called Chivas were neither there due to the fact they had a game at that time, so they also plaeyd with their second string team, And Norway did have Hangeland, Valencia, Espen Johnsen, Borgersen and Aarst who should be considered as squadplayers in the NT, so I think they were prety even. And Mexico really outplayed Norway in the first half, while Norway created some chances in the second...Mexico is a great team...And should do well in the World Cup, especially due to the fact that they have one of the easiest groups in the Cup. Angola were lucky to qualify while Iran is only the third best nation in Asia. And Portugal is a bit overrated.

About PVM being listed as a Ham-Kam player:

Don't insult the poor guy, that was totally uncalled for ;)
Actually, it said on text-tv today, that PVM officially played the Mexico match as a Ham-Kam player, because NFF hasn't gotten a single paper on the transfer yet. :D

We will probably start with this starting eleven (in a 4-1-3-2 formation): Espen Johnsen - Steinar Pedersen, Brede Hangeland, Frode Kippe, Erlend Hanstveit - Petter Rudi - Henning Hauger, Tomasz Sokolowski, Petter Vaagan Moen - Stian Ohr, Ole Martin Årst

That means that Steinar Pedersen, Tomasz Sokolowski and Stian Ohr will make their debuts for the national team.
