First round, first leg:

Serrières Neuchâtel - FC Schaffhausen 1:4 (0:1)

YF Juventus Zürich - Malcantone Agno 1:0 (0:0)

Wohlen - Colombier 4:1 (2:1)

After the second leg the three winners will play each other in group play and the top two teams will be promoted to the NLB. Looks like Schaffhausen and Wohlen pretty much secured their place in the final round. GC II was only 2 spots away from playing in this promotion tournament - maybe next year.

GC II can't be promoted to NLB anyway, because they are an amateur team. Each club may only have one team of professionals. Therefore, 1st League is the highest league a second team of any club can reach...

Interesting, I didn't know that - but it does make sense. You sure about that? So should a reserve team finish on a promotion spot, do they just skip that team?

It's too bad for Sion and Lausanne that this rule doesn't apply for relegation also  . Sion II and Lausanne II got relegated this season to the 2nd league.

A breakdown for the confused:

NLA (1st Division)
NLB (2nd Division)
1. Liga (3rd Division - 1st Amateur Division)
2. Liga (4th Division - 2nd Amateur Division)
3. Liga (5th Division - 3rd Amateur Division)
4. Liga (6th Division - 4th Amateur Division)
5. Liga (7th Division - 5th Amateur Division)

An NLA team (or any team for that matter) that goes bankrupt has to start back at the bottom in the 5. Liga.
