South American Football Confederation chairman Nicolas Leoz will be awarded FIFA medal on May 28 in Seoul, Ultima Hora newspaper informs.
The letter sent to Leoz by FIFA states: "FIFA awards people, who have made important contribution to football. We are pleased to inform you, that you are among the chosen, honoured with the medal. The ceremony of presentation will be held during the 53rd FIFA meeting."
The letter is signed by FIFA chairman Sepp Blatter and general secretary Michel Zen-Ruffinen.

Folks....IMO...Leoz is nothing but a non-working fixture placed at the helm of Conmebol by Havelange and backed by Blatter and Zen-Ruffinen...They BADLY need his vote and the Confederation's Seal of Approval...Therefore the reason for this Politically moved award.
Leoz is just another of Fifa's :jester:s !!!!

BTW .. All that he is good for is making appeareances..he has confirmed his visit to Puerto Montt Chile, tonite for the inagurations of the FIRST ever synthetic pitch in Latin America when the 2nd Div home team meets Universidad de Chile.
This is an area of Chile where it probably rains over 300 days a year, therefore the implementation of the fake grass.
