The son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said he had been approached by Italian side Perugia with the possibility of playing for them.

Moammer Gaddafi, 27, is in Malta with his side Al-Ahli for a four-team soccer tournament. Gaddafi, who plays in midfield, said he would like to play for another Italian side, Inter Milan, alongside his close friend Ronaldo.

"I visited Ronaldo recently in hospital and he gave me a pair of his boots to play with. Ronaldo has asked me to play alongside him to gain experience," Gaddafi said.

Media reports earlier this week said Gaddafi, who is undergoing training with disgraced former Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson, had been engaged by Maltese champions Birkirkara and would play in the European Champions League with them next season.
