Yeah, I agree, the stadium looks stunning. As for the TB stadium - I don't think there are too many options available. I just can't think of a way to modernize it. I remember few years ago AFFA wanted to install the rood but due to the peculiarities of the original design the architects came to the conclusion that it might be cheaper to build a whole new stadium than trying to modernize the old one.

Well, if that's a cheaper option, maybe they should use it. I mean, demolish TB, build a smaller (perhaps 20-25K) stadium instead. On the other hand, I don't see the government doing this. It should be initiated by one of the clubs.

Tofik Bakhramov looks like half-built stadium, despite it's very historic stadium - I am for demolishing (exactly same case with old wembley stadium)

Meanwhile, how is Neftchi's stadium?

This Olympic stadium is the government sponsored project (Ministry of Youth and Sports).

As for clubs, "Baku" is about to complete its own stadium in Garachukhur, "Olympic" is building one too in Shuvelan. "Neftci" has "Ismet Gayibov" stadium. Inter they'll stick with "Shafa". They are doing major renovations over there right now.

And this is how "Shafa" will look like after it is done.

1 Stadium is good, but I think we need one more decent big stadium

Our football club's making small stadiums and all based in Baku or near Baku!

We only got 4 good regional stadiums , MKT Araz stadium which is now useless, Lankaran Stadium - great one, Gabala and Simurq stadium is medium..

Ganja and Shamkir stadium is out of date, I guess

Why is MTK Araz useless? :googly: MTK Araz is very much alive. Gabala is still building a new stadium. It is work in progress. The stadium they use now is a reserve field. Simurq stadium is very nice and neat.

MTK Araz is alive, are they not went bust and they started from scratch?
nope :) they are competing in the First division (currently on the 5th position there and still pretty much in the contest for the promotion to the PL).

I think they will not be great club as they used to be. MKT Araz is another weak side like MOIK, Bakili Baku - which only wastes time

When this stadium will be built???
Ministry of Youth and Sport announced the tender for construction, so the cost as well as the dates of construction are unknown at this point.

Which club is going to play there?

Isn't the stadium way too big for league football? Or will it just be used for national team matches? But still then it's too big, no?
