I read in a Spanish paper that Valencia is very interested in buying Atl. Madrid's midfielder Valeron.
The article also said that Valencia are not pressing much to get Hasselbaink, since they already signed Carew. Could that maybe mean that Lopez might not leave after all?

I thought Valeron was midfield anyway?
I think Lopez is 90% leaving as the president of Lazio has said that he can't wait for Lopez blah bla... and even Cuper said something along the lines of 'we are going to miss Lopez' :( :(

Yes, Valeron is a midfield.
About Lopez, I agree that he is almost a certainty to leave, although technically, Valencia could block the transfer since Lazio cannot apparently pay the release clause in one shot (I understand they will pay it over a couple of years).
So who knows, after what is happening, he might stay...

I have a good feeling that he will stay IF we go all the way in the Champions League. I just hope we don't sign any more forwards. If Ilie's decides to stay next year we'd have a great alternation system, with Lopez - Ilie.. Angulo - Carew. We can win even more trophies like this :)

eclipse, your good feeling about lopez isnt accurate...he is leaving and thats that...stop dreaming about stuff that wont happen....lopez will leave, cuper might leave if some huge club wants him, so expect many changes next season...farinos, gerard, mendieta, kily, etc. will probably leave, so dont hope for a better result than this year's one trophy and thats the CL

argentina, you might be right about Lopez, but as far as Farinos, Mendieta, and Kily, I wouldn't bet on them leaving. Aside from each having huge release clauses:
-Farinos is Valencian and truly loves this team. I expect him to sign a new contract at the end of this season.
-Mendieta signed a multi-year contract at the end of last year (when several big clubs already wanted him) and has pledged to stay
-Kily is in his first year.

As for Cuper, I really doubt he'd leave, although I could understand if he did after what happened to him when it got nasty with the fans a few months ago. However, he has it made in Valencia and, in my opinion, would be stupid to leave when he has a team like this.

As for Gerard, he might. He's an excellent player, but not irreplacable (unlike Mendieta). Don't forget that we have Albelda, who is also a heck of a player.

About buying more midfielders, I'd say we can't have enough. Remember that not long ago, with all the injuries and suspensions, we were short of midfielders. Also, Milla might not play much next year.

I say we definitely need a world class left back because Carboni will probably play one more year and we have nobody to replace him.
We could also use a good right back, although Gerardo isn't bad at all.

Overall, I wouldn't be surprised if a few players leave (Lopez, Vlaovic, Roche, Angulo maybe??? naaa), but don't forget that with the money Valencia made this year from the CL, and with their newly acquired reputation, they won't have problems signing excellent new ones.

Absolutely. If Valencia win the CL, everything changes (except for already-signed deals, such as Claudio López if we are to believe the media).

Valencia have made a mint from reaching the finals alone, which means that they should be able to keep their players happy financially. They should also have the cop-on to raise the Clause amount on the players.

As for prestige, another reason why players leave Valencia for 'bigger' teams in the past (such as Mijatovic-->Real Madrid), well this won't be a factor next season, as winning the CL changes everything. We will become extremely prestigious.

So with prestige and money sorted out, why should any other players wish to leave?

Ok,lets light the Farinos case.

Parma and Valencia has already agreed a transfer fee guys. The move will cost 18.000.000$.Now,Farinos had also agreed terms but right now he is re-considering it after Valencia's recent success in CL.Well,as the situation is now,IF Valencia loose (and you will) the CL Farinos will leave in the summer for Parma. On the other hand if you win (but you wont) he will probably stay at Valencia.

If Parma doesnt take farinos will take Aldo Duscher from sporting lisboa.

Amoroso, you seem certain about the Farinos deal? Howcome? Where did you get that information? And don't even say from the Italian papers because we know what credibility they have when it comes to transfer rumours.
I follow everything when it comes to my beloved Valencia, and have never heard anything remotely close to your assertion. So, enlighten us!
