Guys hope you don't mind. Thought it would be good to have a seperate music thread on here. See that many post music on the Gooner family thread so deserves it's own thread I thought. Won't get out of hand I promise :smileani:

So post any relatively new music you like and discuss if you wish.

Here are a few that I have liked recently.

I've been branching out my music taste recently, getting into more foreign territory, admittedly famous foreign territory but foreign nonetheless.

That Vampire Weekend song was pretty nice. I like it that new bands are recycling the 80's.

I have a new band that I like. They're called Cymande. They're actually old but I just discovered them. They're supposedly well known in England.

This is what I'm rocking in my ipod.

dreath, have you heard "Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust" yet? [I didn't copy and paste that, by the way :D]. I found it a pleasurable listen although the second half lacks a certain purpose. There's an aimlessness to it all. Still, I don't want to end on such a negative note - as I said, a pleasurable listen on the whole.

At this point, my favourite would be "Góðan daginn".

Yes I have actually, it's, although not in the same class as Takk..., and I agree it does meander off for a coutry walk at about half way.

Two personal favourites are Gobbledigook and Við Spilum Endalaust. I love creating my own lyrics to their songs, those two are very happy songs about love in my mind.

Anyway, onto new areas anyone heard Lupe Fiasco's albums? Excellent Chicago rapper!

Sigur Ros played the Bonnaroo festival in Tenessee a few weeks back. The Bonnaroo is a huge festival in the countryside which runs for four days. I can't even imagine how cool their performance must have been.

Does anybody like that "I Kissed A Girl & Liked It" song by Kate Perry?
