Let's see, I liked their first 2 albums. Absolution a bit less, but still good... I don't know. I will definitely listen to it. They gave me reasons to give them a chance.

i dig em!
i actualy think Absolution is their best with OOS a close 2nd. all the tracks sound way better live tho. i mostly listen to the glastonbury show i d/l at the time + the dvd's
Yeah, I saw them in Madrid in the tour of OOS and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. I went without big expectations and the 12€ were very well spent. They really made a big impact that night. I don't think that everyone there was a fan, because they weren't too known in Spain yet and I'm sure many people bought their albums after that concert... at least, I know 2 guys. :D

They´re definitely a great band. I saw them twice on festivals and I really enjoyed their gigs. Actually only the second one because I had a huge headache at the first. ;)

Two days ago I heard a new song on the radio. Must be the first single, but I don´t know the name. Nice song, I´m looking forward to the album.

BUMP!!!!!

"Muse; overblown space rock protagonists specialising in the epic and extravagant, yeah? Not quite. If you're looking for the '**** me, that's a bit different' comeback of the year, this is it. Matt Bellamy has turned electro sex dwarf.

It's true that, after repeated listens, 'Absolution' sounded just too big for it's own good, occasionally slipping into something between self parody and a Tina Turner stadium rock tribute. Contained within, however, were the hints of something great; the flashes of electronica that ran throughout the breathy 'Endlessly' certainly did the trick.

'Supermassive Black Hole' may be the most ridiculous song title of the year, but it's also the Devon trio's super hit in waiting. Throw away all those ideas of what a Muse song should sound like, because this isn't it. Those electronic tendencies have been developed and, where, last time round, 'Time Is Running Out' was slightly removed from the usual rule book, this rips it up, spits it out and tracks down the nearest disco ball.

Bass lines, beeps and metronomic beats envelop a falsetto that refuses to grate. Think Soulwax, Millionaire or, hell, even Prince, and you wouldn't be far off. A funked up riff and layered vocals all combine to make a track with a genuine groove. Electro-pop never sounded this damn huge; the charts await."

Apparantly completely different to any Muse album to date. Not sure what to expect, but I think that's great - Muse are not, and never will be a predictable band.

Interesting stuff. I thought Showbiz and OOS were great albums, but Absolution put me off them a bit. Like that article says, you could tell that they'd almost made a really good album but something just wasn't right. Hopefully they've nailed it this time.

i dont know what to think...dont expect muse..at all!!!

its a full on club song.Like they wrote a song with prince..iv hade it on repeate for 5 listens. hmm its like britany spears with some wicked fuzz guitar riffs..thats it! vocals are awesome as always but it belongs in a nightclub not a rock stadium

i dont love it..but i def dont hate it
biggest musical shock this year, thats for sure.

d/l the song here http://goodweatherforairstrike.blogspot.com/

Not their best song obviously, but you can still recognize that it's Muse (with a bit of Prince and Queen).

I think Absolution is their strongest album live. Apocalypse please, Stockholm Syndrome, Thoughts of a dying atheist,...

It's Prince/Goldfrapp. It's pretty great. I'm pleased they're moving on since I don't think my favourite bands should have to say in the same place just to please me. Radiohead moved on from the bends sound and made three better albums, hopefully Muse can do the same. :)

Radiohead made 3 better albums than The Bends? :D I'm a massive fan of all of their stuff, but I wouldn't say that. I know it's off-topic, but is anyone going to any of their gigs this summer? I got my tickets for the Edinburgh gig through the post yesterday

Going to try and get to one of the festivals. Maybe V, just means I'd have to sit through freaking Keane. :(

And I thought OK Computer, Kid A and Hail to the thief were all better than the bends.

Got my ticket to see Muse as Leeds :)

nothing beats the bends.kid a is alright/amnesiac was alot better.

anyway..iv got some of the new muse tunes, they are live tho.

13.05.2006 - Radio1 - One Big Week-end Camperdon Park, Dundee - UK
http://www.muse-download.com/ its under '2006' at the top of the page!

Knights of Cydonia - its out there!!!
massive/epic..alot more "muse" than SMBH.not alot of lyrics in the tune but its pretty good, listen to the vocals at the start..some of the best out there.goes into a killer riff towards the end and has an ending that sounds like it could of been of OOS!

Starlight - Mid tempo "spacy ballad" bit like "sing for absoloution" but better. its got a realy catchy riff and melody that grabs you straight away.slow dance kinda song, good rest up song if you see them live. this will prob be a single!

ENJOY!

So who heard it already?
Thoughts? Favorites so far?

Mine are "Starlight", "Map of the Problematique" and "Exo-Politics".
And I am sure "Invincible" is going to be massive at a live show.

I havent heard the new album yet but heard a couple of the songs and very nice. Muse are my favourtie British rock band and Showbiz is the best album they have done. OOS is quality, especially the first 6 tracks of the album but it went a bit downhill from that. Absolution wasnt that great, a few nice songs like Stockholm Syndrome, but on the whole it wasnt what I expected.

I hope this album puts them back in business :)

Their best ever song is Deadstar
