He is not going to be the manager of the team like Hagi, he will be the goalie coach so I don't think "good player does not always be a good coach applies to Taffarel". He has won a WC, played against some of the best strikers, been under a lot of pressure at times, knows pretty much everything about goalkeeping. He can teach a lot of things to Aykut. It will be good for our young goalies. They can not find a better teacher and a man.

Galatasaray need to move on. You guys are still busking on your past glories in the 90s. The returns of Arif Erdem, Hakan Unsal, Hakan Sukur, Umit Davala etc.., coupled with the comebacks of Fatih Terim, then Hagi, and now Tafferel... I have no opinion on how successful an untrain goalkeeping coach will be to Mondragon and Aykut, but one thing is for sure and that is that GS needs to move on...

What are you talking about moving on??? Arif, Hakan Unsal and Bulent can play much better than the youngster we have. So it was the right move to get these guys playing again. As far as Taffarel is concerned he is not going to be the manager of the team so I don't know why it is such a big deal for some of the people. He has nothing to with tactics, with player selection, etc you dont need much of coaching experience to be a goalie coach. Taffarel is not going to play the games it is going to be Mondragon or Aykut. You are talkibg about moving on and yet you have a coach that has been in Turkey for 10 years. New names does not guarantee success or the old names guarantee that they will be a failure.

When I was commenting on Arif, Hakan, umit etc etc, I was talking about GS's recent tendency to bring back players that have gone elsewhere and been brought back, not when they were out of the squad and back in ;)

Our coach may have been to Turkiye twice before, but never with us ;) What's more our current situation is different to yours. You are where we were last year. However, whilst we chose to cure ourselves with new blood your board are choosing to live in the past.

Each to their own I guess...

We shouldn't have brought back Terim either. However Canaydin wanted to gain popular support at the moment.

New blood will only affect the team in player wise. And dont worry I am sure we are going to get rid off a lot of players at the end of the season and see some different faces. What do you want the board to do kick everyone out when there are 7 games left. And I dont know why you are against Taffarel's being a goalie coach;) It is not that big of a position besides I dont think we could find a better one.

It's great to have Andre Mergen :howler: back at the club. He always has a place at GS. But he might need to add to his repertoire of Turkish words to be an effective GK coach. :howler:

Apart from having Hagi as TD, though, I like the idea of bringing back legends to serve in different capacities at GS. These guys are symbols of our past glories and can not only lend their immense experience but also serve as inspirations to our youngsters. :strong:

Now we need to bring Pope back and possibly Suat Kaya, who can be our club barber and haircare specialist. :howler: :D
