Rio move imminent ««
It has been reported that Leeds will sign Rio Ferdinand from West Ham for a world record £12million within the next few days.
Leeds' interest in Ferdinand has been well documented but so has West Ham's desire to keep him and it would come as a surprise if they have now decided that they cannot afford to turn down such a large bid and have decided to sell him.
Chairman Peter Ridsdale said on the latest transfer situation: "We are working very hard behind the scenes but as yet there is nothing to announce.
"At the moment I can not put a time scale on our next arrival sometimes these things happen quickly and sometimes they take time."
We await further developments

That would be a suprising move, especially with West ham selling Foe for 6 million, it's not as if they are needing to balance the books. I'd have expected him to go for maybe 15-20 million (with the inflated prices in England), not anything less.

A good defensive buy for next season when Leeds look forward to playing in the CL.

Leeds have made a £6million move for Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie.

Elland Road chief David O'Leary has £30m to spend and hopes to capture the unsettled England Under-21 star as a follow-up to his record £7.2million swoop for Frenchman Olivier Dacourt.

If Hendrie is tempted by the move, it could spark a midfield clear-out by the club who already have five players capable of filling that position.
