WHOA, what can I say? What a game it was! :) :(
First of all, I am terribly upset that Nedved got the yellow card :( Foul on Davids…Hmm! Perhaps still a trace of Juve-Lazio rivalry? ;)
But apart from that booking, he was SUPERB! :D To quote the commentator : “tremendous” , “amazing”…
In the first half, where the Czechs didn’t really have a grip of the game, Nedved was still capable of making some good passes and had several speedy runs. In the second half, I was simply awed! He was running, running, running, and of course, his AlmosT goal! Aaarrgghh! It was oh-so-close!!! And he really showed that he was also capable (in fact, good!) playing not only in the left wing!
And how many knocks did he have? Was it twice that he had to leave the pitch? I was almost sure that he would get substituted…which he didn’t. Looks like it’s not only in Serie A that Nedved’s being knocked off so often, either due to some foul or pure accident! And how he really persisted to continue playing! In that game, he really showed great fighting spirit! And I mean GreaT!
So, in the end, certainly it broke my heart that the Czechs lost –especially after seeing how devastated Nedved was when Holland was rewarded the penalty (a fair penalty, though!). But after following some underdog teams / dark horses in the past decade bad luck is nothing new to me, really :( Hey, even Frank de Boer admitted that it was lucky they could get a win…a draw would seem a fairer result. But it’s FootbalL, as we all know. My hope is just that in the Czechs’ next matches they (esp. Nedved, of course!) can perform as well as they did tonight, and get better results.

Forza Nedved!
Forza all Lazio players in Euro 2000!

God MUST have wore an orange jersey last night, he MUST have!
And he was looking the match, on the couch together with Lady Fortuna!

Holland was SOOOOOO lucky!!!
Nedved was the man of the match! Definately!!
(Yes, he got substituted in the 90th min.)

I was VERY happy when the penalty was given, and scored, (beer all over my orange outfit)...but afterwards, I felt ''dirty''(and not just because of the beer I spoiled!) and sorry for being a Dutchmen. It was ashamed how we have got 3 points, and the Czechs got nothin, nada, niente, zero!

Thats how cruel this game can be.

I felt so sorry for poor Pavel!!

I was secretly supporting Pavel, every time he touched the ball, he played great at his position, though I was for Holland all the way of course.
But in that interview with Nedved afterwards, dissapointment was showing all over him, understandable of course...

The man of the match, Nedved, was dissapointed, doenst that say it all?

Well, the Czechs have made one thing very clear: our national team definately isn't as good as a lot of people think.
Michel, did that penalty honestly make you happy? The only thing I felt was a sense of SHAME! This is not the way to win a game! If we keep on performing like that, we can forget about winning EC 2000!

The Czechs should have won 'e basta'!

Lazia,
the Czechs should have won, looking at our and their play, but like I said,

soccer can be a cruel game!

We had the better chances in first half, they at the second, and yes, I was happy when we got that penalty, but read carefully at my other reply.
Atferwards I felt dirty and cheap ( people, dont think to well at this sentence! ;) )

I agree, that was not the way to win that match, but there is nothing you can do about it.
Collina made his decision, an angel was on our post, and lady Luck was with us.

Yup Lazia; as Michel has verified, Nedved was indeed substituted just before the match ended. Heck, I guess the coach really had to take him out since he himself was so determined to keep playing ;) ) But before he was finally substituted, he was taken off the pitch for treatment (twice I suppose) and each time I was almost certain he would get substituted but he wasn't!
And Lazia, Michel, glad to see that many of us here still has quite a lot of conscience :)
And whoa, only during that match I truly realized how tall Koller is! 2,02 m - tallest player in Euro 2000! I've heard that Nedved recommended him to Lazio :)

Forza Lazio

Nedved was amazing in the game against Holland!!

I was so proud that he's a Lazio player. And his talent and fighting spirit made even the biggest 'oranje' fans respect him.

After his header bounched off the bar and rolled towards v/d Sar, most people in the cafe were I was watching the match were happy. (I was shocked and in tears) But later on, when he got back in the game after he injured his arm, almost everyone in the place applauded him out of respect.

After Holland scored the penalty, the 'oranje' fans hardly reacted. There were some cheers, but nothing hysterical. Afterward there was more talk about Nedved that about Frank de Boer. He really made a good impression, and of course I told everyone willing to listen that he plays for Lazio!!

But now it looks like he might miss the game against France, so maybe his fighting spirit didn't work out so well after all. I just pray he'll be fully recoverd, so that the whole world can get to see this jewel in the Lazio crown play again!!
