First of the two games in hand we have to have the chance to top the table, Wigan are on a good run of form at the moment having won 6 of their last 7 games if I remember correctly. Definitely won't be a gimme but we're at home, we just beat Chelsea 3-0 and confidence will be flowing through everyone at the club.

Can see us relaxing a bit should we score early on as we've got a tough match away at Bolton on Saturday.

2-0 to United, Ronaldo and Tevez scoring the goals.

Injured Evra faces four weeks out

Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra could be out for up to four weeks with a foot injury.

The 27-year-old returned from a four-match ban in the 3-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday, but was injured as he set up Wayne Rooney for United's second.

"Evra will be out for three weeks, maybe four. It shouldn't be any more than that," said United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Fellow defender Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out for a week with back injury.

Ferdinand pulled up in the warm-up prior to United's Boxing Day win at Stoke and has not played since the Club World Cup tournament in Japan last month.

The England defender had been due to play against Chelsea but had a new spasm ahead of the league match and the 30-year-old has also missed United's last five games.

In Ferdinand's absence, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has used 20-year-old Jonny Evans to deputise.

Ferguson said there is no long-term damage with Ferdinand's injury but he was in need of a prolonged rest, meaning both he and Evra will miss Wednesday's match with Wigan and also Saturday's encounter away at Bolton.

"Rio has been to a specialist and there are no major problems with his back, but he won't be involved against Wigan," added the Scot.

"We are giving him a series of exercises, but he should be ok and we hope he'll be back for the Spurs game."

Frenchman Evra is also likely to miss the Carling Cup second leg against Derby later this month, the FA Cup fourth round clash with Tottenham and Premier League matches against West Brom and Everton.

Both players have helped United keep the Premier League's best defence this season, with just 10 goals conceded in 19 league games.

In light of the team news given by Sir Alex today i'd start this team;

VDS

Rafael
Evans
Vidic
O'Shea

Ronaldo
Carrick
Scholes
Nani

Rooney
Tevez
------

This team is very strong yet has one eye on the big game away to Bolton on Saturday where you'd expect the likes of Berbatov, Fletch, Neville and Park to return to the side unless that team plays very very well. Certainly we'll see Fletcher back seeing as Scholesy isn't fully fit yet.

Great line-up we should get a good result.

Really want Nani to start this one and hopefully the Bolton game. Boy's quality

Great lineup mate, definitely agree with that side. After the Chelsea game, it'd be nice to see Nani and Tevez included. I'd also play Anderson in this one, considering I can see Carrick playing against Bolton.

That line-up seems perfect to me although they may be a couple of chances in fergie decides against playing Tevex and/or Nani.
Is this game on Sky or Setanta by any chance?

How shall we see that then: Tevez for the less important ones but left out of the starting line up for the big matches? I would start with almost the same line-up than against Chelsea btw (except Evra), I see no reason to rest someone. Never change a winning team.

Team news:

VDS

Rafael
Evans
Vidic
O'Shea

Ronaldo
Carrick
Scholes

Berba
Rooney

Bench: Kuszczak, Neville, Fletcher, Anderson, Park, Tevez, Welbeck

Got the team spot on bar Carlitos, looks like SAF wants to continue the Berba - Rooney combo while they've scored 2 goals. Tevez was awful at Derby but then again who wasn't.

Is this the first time we've played our strongest midfield this season ?

Anyway, fvcking come on United. No time to let up now, trashed Chelsea and now let's build on that here against Wigan ahead of a tricky game at Bolton on Saturday.

Solid team and needed for this tricky game. I'm really nervous about this one, don't know why. Although Berbatov's presence in the starting lineup has eased my anxiety a bit.

No Tevez, I am a bit surprised about that. I hope Berba scores the one or other goal today.

Tevez on for Rooney.

Hopefully his injury isn't serious and its just a precaution seeing as we're 1-0 up in a home game in the opening 10 minutes.
