Shao is Beijing local, borned in 10/4/1980, 186 cm and weight 78 kg. Be part of former Beijing Guoan's player Yang Chen's trasfer, he trained in Frankfurt FC for half years at one time.

In China, Shao is famous for his left leg, he's a very good freekick player. Altough his club manager want make him a playmaker in center midfield, his perfect position is still left side. In Jia A this year, he scored for 7 times and 2 of them is direct freekick.

Shao is very lucky in his career, Chinese former head coach Bora Milutinovic called him for the first time just before the FIFA WC2002 (its beat all at that time), his debut in Korea is the game vs Turkey, about 10 minutes later he got Chinese NT's first red card in WC final stage.

Generally speaking, Shao is a good player, good skill, strong and fast, but his pass skill is not very good and not likely become to a commander in midfield, maybe German life can change him a lot, who knows.

Another thing, he is young girl's favourite in Beijing city.

1860 Munich Seal Shao Signing
Latest News | Latest Transfer News | News Archive

01/14/2003. 1860 Munich have completed the most exotic signing in the club's history in deciding to take a chance on Chinese international starlet Jiayi SHAO.

The Lions gave Guang Beijing a cool 2m euros for the 22-year-old striker after he managed to impress during a recent week-long trial at the Olympiastadion.

"He is a player for our future," boasted 1860 coach Peter Pacult. "We will take care of this boy so that he will develop and get used to his life in Munich, physically as well as personally."

Shao put pen-to-paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal on Tuesday confirming him as only the second Chinese player behind Chen YANG – who is now at second division St. Pauli – to ever be on the books of a Bundesliga side.
