The media and Toronto politicians are bemoaning the fact that Toronto bars are not going to be permitted to stay open and serve drinks until 5:00 a.m. every night during the World Cup.
So, boo hoo! Hogtowners will just have to go home and watch the game on their own TV! :crybaby:
And I do mean game - singular. Keeping the bars open till 5 would only allow for one game (starting at 2:30 a.m.) to be seen by the bar patrons. The other games start at 4:30 or 5:00 Toronto time. (I guess the bars would have to send all those drunks home a half hour into the 4:30 a.m. game - thereby triggering mass riots by sleep-deprived soccer fanatics who had been drinking continuously for 8 hours or more). :drunk: :sleepy:
