MU vs. Milan in the CL

Had a discussion with a mate on the Man Ud vs. Milan games in the CL's 2nd round, he insisted that Milan have better players in all positions compared to Manchesters players, and that Milan will dominate and win the 2 legs easily and with a big margain in both legs.

To some extent I agree that some of Milans players are better but not all of their squad, do you think that Milan will beat Man Utd and 'teach them a lesson in football'?

Personally I expect Milan to get a hard-earned agg. win, but hoping for Man Utd to progress, because I would love to see as many as possible English teams make it through.

I agree with your friend, but I don´t think Milan will win so easily. I mean they can draw in Old Trafford or lose by one goal, but they will win in San Siro. I think Milan is clearly superior to ManU.
Yeah Milan will get through but as everyone says it wont be all that easy.
Personally I think Manchester has the better squad but Milan has the better team, they work better together and perhaps age is a factor there.
I don't know who will go thru but it wont be pretty to watch.Milan will pack 9 players behind the ball and let Pippo run infront by himself. Even if they lose 3-0 in the first leg, they will still put 9 players behind the ball with the only purpose of hacking and harassing the opponents. The ugly kid might even get a red card because those spitting, elbowing, harassing, cursing Italians can be hard to play against.

Milan 1-Man U 1 in the first leg
Milan 0-Man U 0 in the first leg
Milan goes thru BTAWGR.

Horrible football in store for us.
I think people are under-estimating Man Utd. And I think Milan will be no different.

Don't forget, Fergie has more CL experience than probably any other manager in Europe. This is the type of game he became a manager for. I wouldn't be suprised if Man Utd won over 2 legs.
Milan are the better team by some ditsance, but as we've seen countless times before strange things happen in knock-out competitions.
Too close to call.

Didn't Milan lose 0-4 in La Coruna with virtualy the same team last season?

I am not so sure about people tipping Milan to definitely win. They probably will, but you can never say never with Sir Alex and Man Utd.

I can see each team winning their home leg, so the question is which team will win at home by the bigger margin?

People say Milan have fantastic players which is obviously true- but so do Man Utd? I don't think Utd can win the league, so they will give it their all to win the CL and could be very dangerous.

I think this one will be decided on the "away-goal" rule.

.
Absolutely not
Ok, but I think they are.
Then we disagree
Milan are a much better side than United.

here is my Milan/United side in 4-4-2

-----------Dida
Cafu---Nesta--Stam--Maldini
--------Pirlo--Scholes
Seedorf------------Kaka
---------Sheva
------------RvN

only 2 United players, although Heinze and Rio were close but no cigar. :shades:

I think the game at OT will be very tight, but i expect a 2-0 or 3-1 scoreline for Milan at San Siro.

Anyone writing off a United team managed by Sir Alex Ferguson need their heads examining. Man for man, perhaps Milan are better but we are definately in with a shout. As someone has already said, in knock out football just about anything can happen.

Besides with the young talent we have at the club, in the next 3-4 years, we'll be the team to fear once again :)

So you are suggesting that Jern should have his head examined :eekani:

Probably we have a slight edge over Man Utd, however no underrating

I don't think anyone is writing United off, you only need one great 90 minutes as Depor showed last season.

It's not long until the transfer window opens, when we buy Gerrard this winter we will be more even  ;)

Absolutely :sob:

However it's rumored that the Deamon Society  would favour a broader Red&Black Devil  to a Red alone Devil to advance ;)

Nevertheless a fascinating clash  by two teams that have made history in the Competition  and as our first trainer (Nereo Rocco  ) that lifted it once said: "May the best team win, but on second thoughts, may we win" ;)

I was just saying that perhaps we have the edge, just to gain some self confidence :scared: :embarass: :scared:

Excuse me? I thought you have spent all your transfer money on Rooney, unless more money has been secured for the Sir from somewhere :googly:
