People believe he is so overrated, that he has suddenly become underrated.
Indeed he has :howler:

It's got to the point recently where people have gone against the hype so much, that they think he's a park player, forgetting that he isn't actually too bad :howler:

1.Riquelme
2.Benzema
3.Toni

Discuss.
I feel all 3 a poor choices. Riquelme is as good as he is rated and he is the ultimate attacking weapon. Technically out of this world, he can change a game in a second. A brilliant player who doesn't get enough credit.

Benzema is also very good. A real handful, he is technically so strong on the ball and is very good in one on one situations. With the shot he has on him he also scores plenty of goals. Again definetly not overrated.

I don't there is a striker in the world who is as pure a goalscorer as Luca Toni. Give him a chance and he will put it away. Another not overrated player.

I find Ashley Cole very overrated myself.

Mexes. A few Real Madrid players on this forum. Quite a few players from Brazil and Argentina although it is not their fault as they come from strong footballing nations and a lot is expected of them. They can be good players but they suddenly become something more because of where they come from. Comes with the territory.

when Ballack, Lampard and Gerrard get mentioned on the same breath with Riquelme, i call it being underrated...not overhyped or overrated!

only Ronaldinho, from today's crops of players, is as much of a genius on the field as Riquelme is....pure talents, superior to Kaka, CR, Zlatan, villa or whoever the feck!

LOL! Thats actually true. What a couple of good games can do to a players ratings.
He seems to have gotten better with age.
Definitely in the looks department. He was 'orrible looking when he was in his early twenties, but as time has passed, he's quite doable.

The only thing Rooney can possibly have over Villa is his workrate
If you couldn't work out his passing is better too at least, then its not an argument. Different players though, Villa is the best striker around for me.

nindra - When those players get their teams to cup finals continuously, score 20 goals, and assist 20 times a season and is their teams mainstay considering they're some of the best teams in the world... yeah thats why Riquelme is overrated. Great player, but clearly not a one man attack like others.
