Well on ITV they said something like The Fiorentina stadium may not be as hostile as Ibrox, but it goes close...

then you watch the Rangers - Fiorentina match and the crowd were sh!te (werent helped by the game obviously). Fiorentina have great fans in Italy, I know this isnt a great thing about them, but I remember when C4 when to show a Fiorentina - Roma (or Lazio) game live and their car had a Roma license plate and the Fiorentina fans smahed the car :D

Anyway as for in Britain, Celtic Park is great... in England on European nights its Anfield although its mainly crap for the rest of the season, same with OT. In terms of intimidation... West Ham used to be, but now its full of families, Millwall full stadium is an obvious contender.

I remember this one. This was where James had to tell the fans he was 'only an English journalist'. They then led away from the danger scene. :D

Elland Road used to be hostile, its not now.
I fail to see how that point stands at all.

We still get relatively similar crowds and all the away fans are still surrounded.

In my opinion, its got more hostile in the lsat 5 years, I mean youd have never seen the violence now associated with the club 10 years ago, it just didnt happen (too many families)

(Youre point does stand if youre on abou the 70s though, but you werent around then, neither were i, neither was a lot of the population, so it doesnt really count :D)

Bollocks, its fairly hostile, but there are less fans nowadays. Between 2003 and this season the atmosphere at Elland Road was pathetic, it was a place of death.
Oh come on TGO, the whole club was a place of death, overall you cant hold that against us.

The fact is, every single ground in this country has become "less hostile", people still go on abou the atmosphere at Anfield, bollocks. Its nowhere near what it used to be, nor never will be. The same goes for Old Trafford (although I always thought it was good when Leeds played them, but that was jsut because of the teams playing - its shit otherwise)... Leeds have discovered something, its almost like that war saying "Youre already dead" ... its as if were already dead, so were just going for it now.

I tkae your point about hte last few seasons, its very true, but i tihnk before them and now, its back to what it used to be (and hte missing fans are only families - all the ones who used to go, still do - the relevant fans that is)

This season it's been good, but I'd be interested to see how long it lasts if you get promoted and have nothing to bind you together. Between 2003 and this season, the atmosphere at Elland Road was shite, and the ground was half empty.

In all honesty I don't think anywhere is especially intimidating anymore. The grounds that used to be hostile are now so full of police/stewards you can go and you won't get within 10 yards of an opposition fan all day.

The only places I would think twice about going are on the continent - parts of Southern and Eastern Europe.
