Inter Milan supremo Moratti to raid Juventus for Moggi
tribalfootball.com - November 23, 2004

Inter Milan majority shareholder Massimo Moratti is considering a major management reshuffle.

Moratti is ready to return to being president, with Giacinto Facchetti stepping aside and inheriting the vice-president's role, in a similar position held by Adriano Galliani at AC Milan.

Moratti also wants a new director general and is chasing Juventus' Luciano Moggi.

Moggi's capture would be a huge blow to Juve, but Moratti is confident he can bring the powerbroker to the San Siro to work with himself and coach Roberto Mancini in rebuilding Inter.

It would be a nice move but somehow I do not think it will happen. Although I have to say that it would be beautiful if it did. Weakening Juventus and strengthening Inter by adding some much needed porofessionalism to the club, not to mention the slyness with which Moggi operates in the transfer market and his ability to make great signings.

If Moratti returned to being President and Facchetti managed the day to day operation of the club in the sense that Galliani/Berlusconi does with Milan then maybe it would not be such a big change. But in all honesty, the further away Moratti is from the day to day operation of the club the better. Also, I do not think Moggi would agree terms unless there is a guarantee that he is totally independent and free from Moratti's interference.

Yes, but as Diavolo mentioned this is discussed in Italy too. That doesn't make it true, but it gives it some more "weight".

Question is how far Moggis contacts go and wether Inter would be able to take over the Italian youth market like Juve have done.

Juve is offloading someone that possibly already 'peaked' . The Maresca-Miccoli-DiVaio thing is rather unecessary... but of course.. that Capello deal was a stunner.

MM is better off retiring... and stay as a non-active major shareholder.

IF the rumour was true, all it says is that Moratti realizes that Inter stinks on the transfer market and need some serious help from the outside. This should not even be news to Inter fans...
