What about that?

Our best player at Euro 2000 could be on his way to Parma, now that Hernam Crespo is of to Lazio. There is also talk of Milosevic going Juve in exchange for Darko Kovacevic.

What do you make of all of this?

I'd prefer that Savo Milosevic stays in Zaragoza, or maybe go to Fiorentina. Zaragoza is an ideal environment for him. They are a solid and competative club. Savo plays there a lot, he plays well and he scores. And this is good for him and for Yugo-football. In Fiorentina, he may also be able to play a lot. However, Fiorentina's prospects for the season 2000/2001 are not very rosy. I would not like Savo to join a club which is fighting to stay out of relegation. (Just remember what miserable seasons T. Ivic and D. Petkovic had with Torino and Venezia, respectively.) If on the other hand, Savo joins a mega-club, he is likely to follow the steps of Darko Kovacevic in Juventus; play in second rated games and get few minutes in the garbage time in major games. That will happen since frankly, Savo is a good player, but not material for Real M., Barca, or some of those new food processing get-reach-fast Italian clubs.

We want Savo to be fit and in good form for the WC2002 qualifying games of the Yugoslav national team, and we should not give a damn about needs and caprices of owners and fans of Parma, Real M. and the likes.
