Milan risk revolution Sunday 27 January, 2002

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani had already warned this week that failure to enter the Champions’ League would mean a revolution within the squad. Today’s shock home defeat to Udinese has only added further fuel to the fire.

“This is a very serious defeat,” snapped the de-facto President, “that weighs down on the shoulders of the directors, Coach and players. We will think carefully about what action to take in response to this result.”

“Will there be massive changes to the team? These are issues that must be resolved after May 6. Up until then we will carry on with these players. We shall see what we have achieved before deciding on the next step.”

Galliani kept the team and manager Carlo Ancelotti in the locker rooms for 30 minutes after the final whistle in order to discuss the current situation. “I told them that our objective remains the same: fourth place and qualification into the Champions’ League. This week Lazio, Verona and Bologna also lost so only Chievo lie in front of us in the table. We must overtake them.”

The atmosphere at the San Siro was heated as fans verbally abused the players before attempting to prevent the team bus exiting the stadium. “I am also a fan,” pledged Galliani, “but I ask them not to take their protests too far.”

Many called for the players to be docked wages and the Vice-President appeared to consider the idea. “We will think about that option, but not in the heat of the moment.”

Meanwhile the entire team will be locked in the Milanello training camp for another week in order to help prepare for Sunday’s trip to Lazio.

This is a very logical warning. It must very frustrating seeing a squad rebuilded with supposed world class players like Rui Costa, Pippo inzaghi, Moreno and Cosmin Contra performing as bad as last season. The players really have to perform now. There are no further excuses. In order to make the 4th position everybody has to fight.

Galliani's warning and talking to the players individually has been pretty good showing of careness from him, I must admit it. It's good to see he's starting to learn and change but maybe he's starting to realize his old ways won't work and soon he'll realize that Carlo won't work either. ;)

He's gonna also somehow change the team this Summer, He's gonna sell and buy. If you think last summer was a big change, then you don't know what you're gonna be getting. Beckham, Colloccinni, Riquelme, Cannvaro & many more are targets of our Rossonerro. :stoned:

Milan are gonna fight this off and win! :fero: and whoever comes to feck with us will get their ass kicked :ass: you will see the great, Magico Milan will be back better then ever.

Galliani must go first! he's perfect as a yes-man,but Berlusconi should have never let him take the operative reign of the club.
everything else is just a consequence
